Most importantly, the video should show off the works of the players currently on MineRealm. Admins and mods will not be teleporting players to these works. We do not want to be biased.
1. Video duration - at least 45 seconds, but no more than 3 minutes. We are mainly advertising the server, not presenting a story.
2. Try to record the video without having the UI present (remove the UI by playing in window mode and holding F1 and pressing ESC (keep holding F1). When the "pause" menu shows up move your mouse off screen and click (still holding F1 til you click outside of Minecraft) then click back into minecraft and your entire UI will be gone, find the "resume game" button by clicking on the screen where the button is normally positioned on the "pause menu"). Having a clean screen when recording is something people are not used to seeing when watching videos related to Minecraft. This will make them watch the video.
3. Show off the best works of the server while also respecting other players' privacy. Don't film on someone's property if they don't want you there. Get permission from them first.
4. Post-production is always awesome but some people don't have access to some of the tools that others do, so keep the post production somewhat limited.
5. Not required but try to include the minerealm logo somewhere in the video (this could count as your post production). It's more appealing to the eye to see a fancy logo than it is to see the name written in some weird font.
I'm sure this will most likely be edited quite often so PLEASE keep checking back for any possible updates.

Alright so as everyone knows jdankk and I are new "sub" admins and Intelli wanted us to get some new members on the server. What better way than a video contest? Listed below are the rules and such for making the video.mdk14 Second Place!

JUDGING
We'll try to keep the judging sweet and simple. The staff members will watch the videos and choose which they feel shows off the best works on the server and in the best way. EDIT: No more than 3 videos per person please.PRIZES
We will have three (3) prizes. First, Second, and Third place.
First Place
Two (2) Diamond Pickaxes and one (1) of each Diamond tool which includes the Axe, Shovel, and Sword. No one really needs a diamond scythe haha.
One full diamond set of armor.
One stack (64) of Mossy Cobblestone.
Second Place
One (1) of each Iron tool which includes the Pickaxe, Axe, Shovel, and Sword.
One full iron set of armor.
32 Mossy Cobblestone.
Third Place
33 Gold bars (equal to all four (4) tools and a full armor set)
16 Mossy Cobblestone
Please post all of your videos on YouTube and reply to this thread with your video link or video embed code so that we can watch them all here! The last day that you will be able to post videos will be EDIT: February 7, 2011. The staff will watch the videos and post the winners as soon as we possibly can. Only 1 winner per video but you may distribute the winnings amongst your group members. If a winning video is chosen, the person that submitted the video in this thread will be the winner of those prizes, no matter who helped with the video or who was in it.We will have three (3) prizes.
