Loading the background map is taking up a lot of time.
I really like the idea, but i dont want to wait 10 seconds to load a new page of a forum thread...

I think The background map should only be visible on main pages like "Home" and "Forum".

You can turn it off at the bottom of the page.

Now disabled by default on mobile devices.

It can also now be toggled on/off by the link in the footer.

The page loads before the background map does. You don't need to "wait for it".
