95% of the posters say yes and some want some helpful improvements. Just because spawn realm owners realms near spawn, doesn't mean they have to sell, or you have to buy.

Those are some good points. We all know that Intelli codes everything himself--those of us who support the idea just thought it's so good it's worth proposing anyway--but the need to modify it after every minecraft update is something I hadn't thought of. Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts, saves!

With Minerealm 5.0 being discussed it would be foolish not to implement this.

Chest Shops

Just left-click the sign to sell to shop, and right-click the sign to buy from shop.
Do the following to create a chest shop:

Place a chest, if you haven’t already.
Place a sign near the chest (for example, above the chest)
Write this on the sign:
Row 1: (will be filled with your name automatically)
Row 2: item amount (just a number)
Row 3: price (combination of buy and sell price. B near buy price and S near sell price.)
Row 4: item name (use /iteminfo to find the name or check out this list)


An example: Intelli wants to sell 64 diamonds for 6400cr and buy them back from you for 3200cr. If you put “free” instead of price, it is free to buy or sell
If you want to delete your old shop, simply sneak and destroy the sign. It’s that easy

This would be a wonderful thing to have on MR, on the 5.0 map if not the current one. It would reduce dependence on a centralized trade area, would allow trading with those who aren't online at the same time as you, and would be completely legit as all items must first be obtained by players before being put up for sale.

A couple other ideas:

Add 3-5 second teleport delay to quash PvP complaints.

30+ second interval on PvP toggle.

Not a great one but, if spawn is still a PvP safe haven, if you /spawn you can only exit, no entrance.

Since the beginning of time this has been shot down.
I don't know if Intelli has thrown the ideas of keeping the game mechanics the same out of the window, if not this won't go though.
Anyway, teleporting items instantly across the map doesn't seem that vanilla.

Also, even though there is a poll. If it does win it won't mean anything.

Wat.

Items wouldn't be teleported across the map--they would sit in a chest being used as a player-run shop until a buyer comes along and interacts with the sign. I could see a criticism about the use of a new plugin as being a threat to the mostly "vanilla" nature of the server, but if teleportation is the main concern, consider that the current trading system usually involves a /trade command that warps you to a trade area from anywhere on the map.

My first thread lives once again!

Yes, an adapted version of this would make an excellent feature of Minerealm 5.0, almost completely regardless of what the new system's exact mechanics will be. Personally, I'd be severely disappointed if an entirely new Minerealm survival server was made and given the game.minerealm.com address without a few features like this to make it obviously superior to our current one.
