I average 600-900fps on minecraft, and a solid 60 in Diablo 3 with maxed graphics

Good luck with your hunt for a good gpu, but remember; a good gpu needs a good CPU to work!

I bought an asus 6770 a couple weeks ago. I like it. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00576Y31E/ It does about 120fps in minecraft (I have it locked to vsync though, too many fps was making me nauseous haha) and about 50-60 in Diablo 3 with all settings maxed. Honestly this is all you need in a modern video card. It just depends on how future proof you want to be, what resolution you want to run, and how many monitors you want to output to. I run linux and play games thru wine, so I might be dropping several tens of dps as well.

Do not get a 6770. It's pretty much a 5770. Go for the GTX 560, with your tiny budget it's the best you can do.
