This is an idea I've been thinking about and would like to see what kind of interest there might be in it.

A sort of living MC wiki on MR.

I have a couple of realms next to the Water Park that I'm clearing and am planning 1 or 2 large buildings with floors devoted to different MC building techniques.

For instance a floor that shows different types of furniture that you can make.
Another floor for different farm layouts.
Another for different redstone circuits.
Another for ways to build different types of shapes.
Etc, etc.

What I'm curious about:
Would other players be willing to contribute?
This would be a low time investment kind of thing.
You'd let me know what you want to build, we'd figure out if it fits into an existing floor or needs a new floor of its own. (The potential for # of floors will be pretty good with the new height limit)

I'd add you to the realm while you're building, but I would be the only permanent member so you wouldn't have to worry about grief/theft of materials. I'd put up signs to give you credit for everything you build.

Let me know what you think. Is this a duplicate of something that already exists that I'm unaware of?
I'm just starting to clear the realms, not even close to starting the buildings, so this is not a time sensitive thing. Think about it and let me know if you're interested in contributing at some point.

I think it would be great to get people that would be willing to do this. I can build abstract and spacious buildings and from what I've seen some of the better interior designers are BSGSam and Surge by far. I have rarely seen better use of materials.

oh and just btw: I don't think Laser was being rude. He likes my Water Park and gave me lots of good tips on improving it which I appreciate. I don't plan to add realms to it as he has suggested, but I do plan to add height when the ceiling is raised and if boats ever work better in SMP I'd like to use the boat ride as a "trolley" to get around to my different realms in that area which I plan to have a few different "attractions" on.

I think this idea is pretty cool. I might help with anything but redstone, I'm a retard when it comes to red stone. But I know a guy who made a working robot out of red stone (blinking eyes, opening/closing mouth).

You'll definitely want to make mention of the peculiarities that exist only in MineRealm. Chief among them is the anti-griefing behavior of torches that prevents them from being washed away by water or lava. I frequently find myself using torches to dam up subterranean lava and water springs. Also, if a column of liquid lands on a torch, it dead-ends instead of flows around it.

Thanks, Kitty! Absolutely we need a roofs section! And stairs and waterfalls and all sorts of stuff. I hope you will start a coaster design floor?? I defintely want one dedicated to subway/minecart rail design, which I haven't worked with at all.

I'm so glad this is starting to get some interest and I think it will get even more once it's actually underway. I really want this to be community driven so that it showcases bits of the collective talent while also being a helpful resource to players new and vet alike.
