I thought it'd be a pretty nifty idea if we could all have an idea of each others' plans and goals for the future. You know, which college you want to go, or where you're going/went, what you want to or have majored in, what specific career field you'd like to become or already are a part of. Who knows, some of our skills could be useful in-game.

I'll start:

Well first, I don't think I've introduced myself (at least not formally), so my name is Bryce. I'm a 19 (going on 20 soon) year old college student in the second semester of my second year at a community college in Illinois. So far, I've knocked almost all of my general studies out of the way, and after I've milked as many credits I can from the cheap 2 year college I'm attending now, I plan to transfer to the newly built Western Illinois University campus that is opening locally this spring. There, I plan on continuing my goal of majoring in electrical engineering (I've been taking specific math classes that are required so far), and I'm undecided on a minor. Possibly music or something pertaining to sound engineering. It would be a dream come true to work for a big-name guitar amplifier manufacturer such as Marshall or Mesa, designing and refining future amplifiers' circuitry. I love tube technology (I've built a 65ish era Marshall clone, point-to-point wired and all), and I'd enjoy a career in which I could help keep that technology around. Plus, have an excuse to play guitar on the job to test out my work ;)

So what does everyone else have planned for their future? Please share, because I, as well as others I'm sure, am really interested to see the diversity of interests among the minerealm community.

Confusing. but:

I'm ********, and I'm 17 in high school. I'm really good at singing. I am a whiz with computers, hoping to do something in that area. Then, I'll turn into barney, fluff up big birds feathers, and burn down the cow farm.
All done.

Currently I do nothing. Sit around for most of the day either watching tv or playing computer games.

However, that's because it's currently off season. As some of you may know, I work in Drag Racing.
I work for a company called FGR Motorsport - We build and maintain drag racing cars. We also run our own Top Fuel Funny Car, of which I am a crew member.

See here: http://minerealm.com/community/viewtopi ... =12&t=4865&

Over the new few years I plan on getting out to America. For I am also a Storm Freak :P

I like to chase severe weather and get as close to severe weather as possible. Mainly tornadoes ;)

That's it.

I graduated in December with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication, emphases in Public Relations and Journalism.
I do graphic design stuffs, too. I'm quite proficient in Adobe Photoshop and InDesign.

Right now, I lay on my bed watching Celebrity Apprentice waiting for a job offer. :geek:

I've done:
Programmer
Chef
Submariner

Now I'm bored and looking for yet another direction. About the only only constant in my life is a love for games of all types (video, board, dice, card, cup, you name it).

Hippo - Reminds me of myself when I was 17. I wanted to do something with computers, but had no idea. It was a confusing time, sucks being pressured to figure out what you want to do with your life once you hit like, 17 and 18. Hopefully its not as much of a downer for you as it was for me when I was undecided.

Tornadic - Drag racing? Thats awesome! I love cars. My family has a pretty cool history of owning lots of muscle cars, which are of course really different than drag cars.. but I love cars in general. Well.. old cars. I'll check out that video when I have some time. It'd be cool to learn some more about the stuff you do, and I'm always on board with learning more about the workings of any fast vehicle.

Alliteration - Sucks you have to wait around for a job offer.. With all the talk of how ".. future generations will only get by with a degree," it bothers me how its like that's a complete lie. I'm sure you'll find something in the near future. And its pretty cool you've got some graphics experience to add to your skill set. I used to work a lot with photoshop too. It comes in handy for the most random things. Never know when an employer might need someone with that skill as well as someone with your degree.

CirJohn - I gotta say, your job experience is the most unique I've heard of, hahah. That's pretty awesome though, the submariner thing. I don't hear of a lot of people saying they've had a job to do with that. If you love games, have you tried developing any games of your own?

Hmmm.... If The_Pandemic reads this, he may give CirJohn a run for his money. Chef, Bill Collector, Salesman, Dancer, Mason Tender, Automotive Technician... oh, and he's only 24. >_>

But I've gotta say, Submariner is pretty darn cool.

I used to want to make games professionally, but I realized that I'm the kind of person that can't mix work and pleasure without one becoming the other. Now I just advise one group of friends on their game developement when I play games with another.
