The Problem
Currently there is a lot of drama concerning exploitation of the invulnerability a player has immediately after logging in. Essentially certain individuals log out then immediately relog during pvp to become invincible and get the kill.

This is obvious exploitation of a broken system.

Suggested Solution
I suggest that during this invulnerability players also be unable to harm others, essentially disabling pvp for a few seconds after login.

This would completely remove the exploit without any wiggle-room for rule-benders. If you log in you will have enought time to make a (quick) assessment of your situation. If someone attempts to relog on you, you will have enough time to change your game plan. Either way, no one will be able to exploit invulnerability in pvp.

Simple but effective, I'm in! Don't PvP much or get killed in the nether (only got killed once and I spend quite some time there).

Also, PvP is going to be popular in Minecraft 1.9 since there a lot of things needed for brewing and other things. A lot of these things you can find in the nether.

I found it a good suggestion and think it should be implented. Although people can still run away....

This could still be used by people trying to escape from the Nether, for example after having killed someone and stolen their stuff. Log in, sprint for three seconds, log out again, rinse and repeat. But I admit that such exploitation of the login immunity would be less... controversial... than disconnect-based combat that currently happens.

Hehe, if someone were to continuously relog for invulnerabilty against any seasoned nether-dog, they would soon find themselves buried.

Bahahaa i hadn't thought of that! Now that you mention it, I do remember finding myself in a pool of lava after relogging while trying to sneak up on kress...

The first time I encountered a person logging in/out for pvp i died (did not know there was invulnerability). The next time, the person was buried. I dont like lava cause it is too easy to kill yourself cleaning up after it.
