So I got a PC with Windows 8 on it this weekend *shudders*
After spending a bunch of time linking various accounts for skype etc I then left the PC updating to 8.1 overnight.

My question being what flaming retard decided it was a good idea to only allow ONE account to be linked across the board and how do I bypass it?

I want to log out of the xbox account and into another one. The same with skype. But want to keep it for other things like facebook.

Well, after much faffing on I ended up making a new user profile and giving it admin rights.
This let me configure my accounts as I wished.
And from there changed this user, now an admin, to default profile.

Edit: Seems the People tile still wants to connect to services that just don't exist under that e-mail address..bunch of Numpties

Pfft...

I'm getting used to it's little nuances now and it's actually faster than Win 7 anyway.
Apart from that I already have 2 PC's and a couple laptops running Win7 so why not dabble in the future? It's isn't going to go away.

Side note, McAfee absolutely kills Battlefield 3 -.-

I thought this too, once.. But, once you get used to it, you understand that speed is key and Windows 8 has that.. Without doubt.. Over Windows 7. Lol. I use both though.

It would probably be counter-productive but can you dual boot both?

Honestly though I was a massive skeptic and frowned upon Win 8 for the longest time but I'm coming to love it already. Could be the much faster i7 with 24GB of ram it's running on compared to my old i5 with 6GB mind


I also have the M$ 4000 Ergonomic keyboard which works really well with it too.
Just need to upgrade the Nvidia GTX645 stock it came with and I'm all set.




Edit: It still has that "made by numpties" restrictive customization feel to it

Honestly, never tried dual booting it. I know you can run a Virtual OS within it though.
