Hooray.. That forum update..

Players with large amounts of friends/influence/money (Oh yes bribing for poll votes isn't new at all) and what not are even more so inclined to rule the server... Shame for those new players who cant even get a say in.. Something happens and their banned, and one person with a lot of people in their guild don't want them back? Say Goodbye to MineRealm.

Ban appeals should be left in the hands of staff. Not the community. Yes we have your opinions and whatnot, but they are only opinions. Doing this, makes it unfair in ultimately deciding if someone comes back from a ban or not.

Leave the polls for community suggestions to help the server. Not to dictate who stays and who goes. That much power in one little vote? Imagine how many will go crazy with it between the guilds who can't stand one person and the PvP Ban requests being thrown up all the time.

I can see nothing good from this in the future..

This is proof staff can override votes, therefore if there is bias voters staff can always veto it :)
Staff agreed with the votes if you didn't notice. The pole was for the Appeal to be accepted.. Votes said yes, and the person was unbanned. I think you read it backwards.

Last I looked it was 63%, but it went up to 67%. But I think staff has power to override it still?

And? 51%+ in one way has the poll leaned in it's favor. If staff are still overriding polls, then why even bother to have them put in? If it's a matter of keeping people from posting on ban appeals, then just enforce the rule more, considering it's really been said a numerous amount of times.

I think Monkeychunks is referring something similar to the 70% yes-accept rule-thingy like for the suggestions.

But aye, polls on bans will just lead to angry mobs demanding bans.

I would assume these polls are for generic purposes to judge the communities opinion on said player. I highly doubt they would have any influence over who gets unbanned and when. Else Kress could create a ban appeal and end up getting unbanned if enough people say yes.

Again, I highly doubt these have an effect on whether staff decide to ban or unban a player.
