Hello everyone, Intelli stated that if interested this topic should be reposted, so here it is. I like the idea what about you guys?

MineRealm Vanilla would be a server fashioned the way MineRealm was when it launched.

Features!
1. Linked Chat (With other servers): Yes
2. Fire: Yes
3. TNT: Yes
4. Creeper explosions/damage: Yes
5. PVP: No
6. Commands: /help, /msg, /playerlist, /compass

The map size would be 500x500 - this would create a more central community, which would be the entire point of the server. 500x500 is still plenty of space though.

This server would be whitelisted, and only the most elite players of MineRealm would be allowed to play. There would be a section for applications created on the forums, but simply creating an application to play on the Vanilla server won't necessarily get you on it.

So, we're now looking for your feedback on this server. What do you guys think of the concept?

Fully support IF:
1) MR can run it without detracting from performance on the main server. (I'd imagine a 500x500 map wouldn't be much of an issue.)
2) Rulebreaking on the Vanilla map also leads to bans on the main MR server--otherwise, that map will be demolished very, very quickly.

As a separate idea, I'd suggest having a resettable border region (say, expanding the map to 600x600) to be reset as necessary for gathering resources. Plenty of things are renewable in Minecraft, but even relatively common materials, like dirt and netherrack, could quickly become scarce on such a small map. This, however, is something to think about if/when the matter currently at hand is approved.

If we were to implement MineRealm as vanilla it would have the enderdragon and enderchests would be enabled in the nether.

Wat. Just wat. Where does it say anything about shutting down the current MR server?

I assume looting and griefing would not be allowed anywhere. And seeing as how it'd be whitelisted, players should have very few problems with that rule.

Why no PvP? and I think your standard for the hardcore could just be those who earned the Veteran Achievement. something measurable, rather than a subjective application.

-sigh-

1. Minerealm would stay as is. No one would quit
If this were to be implemented, it would require a seperate iP such as play.mrvanilla.com or vanilla.minerealm.com

2.This will be WHITELISTED, so scrubs and noobs stay out. if you read this would be explained. So in honesty there will be no problems with griefing unless you're trying to say the most elite of Minerealm and dedicated players are lowlife people who destroy other players creations, which is kinda rude.

3. If anything, this would be more fun. It gives us dedicated and skilled players something to do other than sit around and just chat.

think of how many people log in a server eadch day.. and how many random people logged in last year... There are numerous "veterans" simply because a person logged in once, and came back a year later, having done nothing to the server or anything. there needs to be a whitelist.
