I wanted to show my support for those posts I agree with, but the like button dont work for me because I have only made one prior post at the forum (five is obviously needed). Because of this I will just say what I think instead, like normal people do =)

First of all I really support a public wipe, to get all new biomes and and new resources into the game.

Second, I would be really sad if it was a total wipe of even all private realms, it would destroy most of what MineRealm stands for. I think old cities/villages should be protected in some way as it is, now it's most private rich benefactors that put their credits into protecting beautiful buildings they find.

Third, I support all who have voted/asked for an option to wipe even private realms. Most realms I have bought is because of the location and not for the fantastic environment, so I would gladly get most of them wiped. This could be a way to get some credits out of circulation as well.

If there were to be a public land wipe, could I suggest creating a new "/realm wipeable" command or similar to allow private realms to be wiped also, if the owner so wished?

Option 3 - I believe that structures in public realms should be preserved, and are a strong part of the servers identity and heritage.

I was using the random teleporter recently to look for dungeons. One of the places I was taken to was amazing. It looked like an old guild had disbaned There was serveral buildings and quite a lot of other work in teraforming and road, etc. I though, this would be a tragedy if it was griefed or lost.

I'd rather like a public wipe with the idea from TeeJay to give private realms free to wipe too, than a total new map and start all over again.

The /wipeable comand TJ was talking about, is a great idea and is just for this wipe only and not a permanent comand.

yeah, I can honestly say if the whole map was wiped I would probably only come on from time to see friends. I didn't put almost a years worth of building into this server to see it all get wiped [...] i really dont see problems with this, except the fact that the land might be awkward in spots.

There is a BIG difference to the game this time compared to the last wipe.
Enchanted tools are all over. Terraforming to fix "ugliness" is much easier.

A wipe would also remove 2 years of random junk that was previously private. Things that ppl care about will still be taken care of and things that ppl dont care about will be removed because its public. Those areas become fun to explore again instead of it feeling like almost every cave has at least some torches in it already.

To buy /protecton sounds like the best idea so far. Whether it is public or private realms, evryone could keep what is precious to them and have wiped what they dont need anymore. This way important buildings like the chathedral or the subway can be saved too.
Of course those who are filthy rich can protect more realms that way, but they spent a lot of time playing too, right?

I really like Soul K's suggestion re buying protection ... given a decent amount of notice to earn the creds required (say a month), I think it would be quite fair and would provide a good balance between protection of active and historically important builds, and renewal of the map.

I don't think it would be a bad thing to lose the subway say ... it would give opportunity to build something new and better, maybe an aerial railway that actually shows off MineRealm rather than tunnelling through beneath it, or a gridded network of nether rails that provides access to almost the entire map. The possibilities are endless

I already pressed "like" on several posts here and voted. But the Protection-Idea becomes better with every day I think about it. So here my post to state that I support it
