Nobody was here during the glory days of MR PVP. PVP now has progressed, as people said, to cowards running and hitting people or spawncamping in the Nether. We need a new NTC, and then PVP may actually become like the PVP of yore.

PvP is just going to get worse of this is implemented. Even if people agrees to fight each other. That's not how it should be.You should be able to sneak into the nether to attack someone and them not seeing you turning on pvp.
Plus, there would be /pvp togglers which would lead to even MORE flaming and argueing.

PvP is player vs player not sneaking up on people like a coward
Also if it were implemented I would expect people would be banned if they turned pvp off during a fight

It gives the element of surprise. If there was a guild war like the last one vs. UN and cic against Vortex, you wouldn't be yelling in chat " Were coming in the nether to kill you guys!"

That's not pvp, it's just as low as the skill-less nubs who camp doorways in CoD or hide in bushes in Battlefield and exactly the reason why this suggestion exists......

I've been here for roughly 10 months now, and to be honest guilds are nothing more than chat groups anyway

So some strategical advantages might be lost.
New form of cowardice "togglers" , an easy solution could be a wait period until full deactivation of pvp since typing "/pvp".
And I am unfamiliar with guild wars, so I not give opinion to the topic.

Say if someone wanted to keep the challenge of making it in and out of the nether slive from player attacks they could simply activate /pvp before entering the nether.

Yeah but isn't the whole point of a guild war is that both guilds have the intention of hunting people out in the nether as stated in "golden" days. It's not that hard to /pvp, if most people have it off it's cause they enjoy more the other aspect of the game. Building, creating, and making something awesome LOL. Maybe if we had safe zones or /realm pvp.

Id hate to say it but if you don't like things like this maybe you shouldn't play PVP games it has been and always be like this. That is their play style and there is nothing you can do to change that. But it still is PVP irregardless. You guys give consent of PVP by entering the nether. Be happy you have a toggle in the overworld because it was really never intended, if the nether gets a toggle, next people will be asking for one in the end and wilderness.

Also bu1l, a wipe would do nothing except regenerate the quartz, glowstone and nether forts, then guess what comes next. The grief and messy looking nether that already exsists, so what's the point.(And speaking from staff pov on fixing the nether I see ghasts all the time.)

How many times do we have to tell people you don't like the portal campers, well use your own portal. No one is forcing you to use the one at spawn.I'm sure I'll see comments such as "Well I shouldn't have to enter another portal" yet I see suggestions to make people go out of their way to the wilderness and the end to get open pvp. As far as people hiding in the nether and using invis pots to patrol high traffic areas like wither pads. Well that's the point of why they are there, they know it's guaranteed players will be there.

If anything this will get rejected/implemented as it is multiple ideas which many disagree on one and not the other. You should have waited and posted the second one at a different time. You want the nether hard, then instead of raising the difficulty let's raise it to wilderness level, double damage, that would make people think twice before entering.

Anyways I can go on and on about every single comment made in here but that would take all day. So this is the short version.

I understand what you're saying here, Rokkr, but I respectfully disagree. I put them together on purpose and was very clear about what people are voting on. A Yes vote means you are ok with both things happening. A No vote works for disagreeing with either one. I wanted there to be a trade-off, no more auto pvp but a more challenging Nether overall. And double damage instead of normal setting would be fine with me. Think of the Wither battles!

Nether is set to easy and you see maybe one Ghast per week if you're lucky, most of which can't hit you due to the massive amount of mess the Quartz rush left, and can be killed by one arrow!

The only PvP (if you can even call it that) I have encountered in my 10 months of playing was during quartz, and that was a bunch of cowards running around in groups hunting people down....that's not pvp......

To be honest the entire nether NEEDS a wipe, it's worse than the overworld just in a smaller area.
As a matter of fact, he didn't play the same MineRealm as you. He played it back in the old days, when ghasts were everywhere and PVP was a huge part of guild politics. It used to be involved and exciting, I assure you.
