Question about this:

When that happens, will getting to level 30 take only as much exp as it takes to get to level 30 now (but have better enchants at that point than you would now), or will getting to 30 take as much exp as it takes to get to 50 now?

XP increase will be linear (y=17x). Yes, that's the right equation. Each level will take 17 XP.

30x17=510. The current amount of xp to get to level 50 is over 4,500. This means that you can enchant 9x faster. I have a feeling that prices will drop.
