Plus the fact we never even really HAD a swearing problem.

At least not among the majority of the server. It's mainly been an occasional saturation F-bombing run by a trollish noob that joined for the first time.

Thinning out the help-bot's list of banned words would be a big improvement--if it only banned for a few of the most offensive words (which are the ones most commonly used by people who just join the server to cause trouble), we would get rid of all the "false positive" bans while also continuing to ban the worst offenders.

I like Help Bot, but some stuff needs to be fixed.
I don't swear, and I don't know why people need to type out curse words.

Beg your pardon, You never said any bad words in recent say year? E.g. in real life?

IRL you drop contact with otherwise good buddies that once say f*** if they lag, erm, if they drop and break a vase? :roll:

It amazes me a bit that you value not seeing the horrible f-word once per month on fast scrolling text window more, then you value heaving buddies in-game with which you build this virtual world :? (it's not like the people I have in mind are angry kids using f-word all the time, it was exception, and I know them as traders&builders)

I would love if bot would correctly kick/ban people that flood channel with nonsense, only if good players that do this on exception would be even faster unbanned.

I definitely agree with Lineant. This server is for all ages, which is what the owner decided to make it. It is our privilege to play here on Minerealm, and we need to respect the rules, otherwise people can be banned which I'm perfectly fine with. This is good for the occasional times when no mods/admins are online for a long time and there is someone swearing an extreme amount, sometimes non stop.

I think that the bans by help-bot are quite useful!
In most cases, trolls used to join the game and disrupt us to a symphony of swear-words.
I am happy to say this happens no longer!
Although you should keep the Helpbot AI off (We all know why...), :?
I do not see any other flaws.

Oh, as an afterthought, could Helpbot perhaps not warn you for words such as:
Damn, crap, etc.
These are instinctively said by most people, and although this has never happened to me, I'm sure most members would agree.

Numerous people where banned due to "bad language", including people that build cool realms right at spawns and overall make this server/world interesting.

If you do not know what is going on, the Ban section is rather active with appeals.

How do you fell about it? Please post short explanation too.

Personally, I think help bot shouldn't be allowed to ban at all. Banning is for the mods and admins, not a non-living chat thingamabob/plugin.

It is good for people who go around spamming "f*** f*** f*** f***", but help bot is a little over sensitive. A few people were warned for saying "crap" which is hardly a swear.

We are also losing helpful, caring, and overall, awesome players because of this artificial moderator and I think that this menace should be stopped.

If I had to speak about this and provide a reason why we don't need the help bot to ban, I would steal these words right out of your mouth.

We aren't losing overall good players to swearing, they can appeal, even if the swear is a minimal one.

I personally like the help bot, my lil' 9 year old brother plays sometimes on this server, and I'd prefer he doesn't learn too many no-no words. (And he usually repeats new words, and my parents bust out their ban-hammer, which comes down on MY head)
