If Ninjalo stole your realm, why didn't you get it back in the months before he was banned?

Well first off i was very inactive around this time, Once i started playing again ninjalo had already been banned. This all happend before i was staff, i thought ninjalo would be unbanned at which point he would give it back. It didnt turn out that way, so after i heard he was perma i contacted rokkr.

Did you guys not read this? He had no idea and wasn't on to even get the realm back. By the time he returned and noticed Ninjalo was banned. After that he didn't bother staff with such a trivial matter because he figures Ninjalo was going to get unbanned and he could get it then. Eventually he became staff, and Ninjalo was still banned, time went by and eventually it was decided Ninjalo would be permabanned. At this point Chubsy decided to contact me because he had no way to ask/have Ninjalo return the realm back.

As far as him having his info that is a personal matter that we've spoke about, that in itself is none of your business, but him having his info was not intended for MineRealm. So did he steal it? Yes he did and no one knew the wiser because Chubsy didn't say anything. Have we heard the story prior to him being staff? According to Intelli, yes he's heard about it prior but Chubsy as stated never told us because he wanted to deal with Ninjalo personally.

For all we know they talked on Skype about it and Ninjalo agreed to return it upon unban. But that we have no clue nor can we pursue. So in a situation like this would I do for a average joe, no name player? Yes if they have sufficient evidence I would bring it forth to Intelli and we could decide. In this case he had more than enough info imo.

Either way what's done is done, you guys should be more concerned that Ninjalo will keep logging to keep the realms up. This is a prime example as to why you never give out your info no matter what the reason is. Someone will always stab you in the back even if they are a friend.

I also can see well if he knows his info shouldn't he not be a staff member? That was taken care of on the spot when it was discussed about the realm and Chubsy was forced to change his password again just incase. But that shouldn't be a issue, just thought I'd state it because someone will say it.

As far as your case with Oneman you guys entrusted him with that money and he had plenty of time to give that money to any of you especially seeing as in his appeal he stated "Ael was kind enough when I asked for 20 seconds before he banned me, to allow me to have 20 seconds. Which I sold all my realms to roach. My only 2 realms left are dispensed realms I bought that I need to sell. I bet several people are waiting to get my triple skeleton grinder, already sold it to roach" So making a excuse about the money is null and void if he had enough time to give roach the realms he could of given the money as well.

Now, for a long time there has always been people on Minerealm who have used the excuse "My brother signed on and griefed" or "My friend hacked my account and stole those diamonds" and the standard response as always been "You are directly held liable for your own account and it's keeping." So I understand how some people could be willing to argue that it was Chubsy's fault that his account information got into Ninjalo's hands. However, you need to understand that this is a completely different scenario. Chubsy hasn't done anything wrong, if anything he has been doing good by helping the server as a staff member. It was just another player abusing Chubsy and exploiting his account. That is why it was given back. Not because he was a staff member or because staff is planing an entire conspiracy which involves trying to take over spawn. -_- But simply because it was his realm that was unfairly taken from him, which he could do nothing about until he found out. The sooner the rest of you just forget about it and realise that arguing isn't going to do anything, the sooner everything will get back to normal and order will be restored

Edit: Also, if you really think about it, the staff are just doing what they were chosen to do. Resolving issues on the server. For example, if someone steals a stack of diamonds, and the culprit is caught and banned, putting the diamonds in custody of the staff. What do the staff do with the diamonds? Do they just auction it off or burn them? do they throw it to randoms at spawn? No they give it BACK to the person who it rightfully belonged to. That is simply what they are doing here.

No, this isn't any different than people claiming their account got hacked. You definitely should not be sending a message that anyone isn't responsible for their own account security. You are. "My brother/cousin/friend did it" remains an inadequate excuse.

Yes, it seems like the only reason this issue got resolved this way was because of the parties involved are all prominent members of the community.

All of the requirements of staff to be staff, tenure on the server, respected within the community, active in chat both in game and out... don't hold these traits against them! There should be SOME benefit to playing here for months on end and getting to know people who can help you out in an unfortunate situation. That's called being part of a community.

What disturbs me is the negative reactions (of some staff even!) to LEGITIMATE QUESTIONS about how matters like this, in general, are handled and why this was a special case. Put plainly some of you are just making yourselves look bad and unfortunately your snappy attitudes reflect poorly on the server as a whole.

Why should we be concerned that Ninjalo is going to keep logging to keep his realms up. I'd hope that sooner rather than later you are going to auto disband his realms just like you did Shamps.

I like the part where you've jumped to the conclusion that this is special treatment, and that we wouldn't even bother to listen to anyone's case in a similar situation if they're not staff.

Since you couldn't read the details the previous times they were given, this realm never should have been ninjalo's in the first place. It wasn't a matter of giving a staff member a realm they wanted, it was a matter of returning a realm to a player when it had been wrongly taken, and a realm, complete with builds and chests is a MUCH bigger deal than a few items lost. If you're going to get all self-righteous and accuse us of corruption, you damn well better have your facts straight, and have bothered to read the ENTIRE discussion.

As to why staff gets to make decisions in difficult situations, we are literally hand-picked for that purpose. A moderator is someone who enforces rules and MODERATES disputes. We're also a lot more fair than the overwhelming majority of servers. We don't get to use our powers to help ourselves. We don't get to use our powers against people we don't like. Our bans ALWAYS have some sort of reason behind them. Go out and see some REAL corruption before you start whining about a decision you don't like because you couldn't be bothered to understand.
