I was a little iffy on this country idea until reading your post, Cere. Now I am actually getting a little excited about it. :)

I would also like to know the answer to this question.
cerevox wrote:Ok. Now i am confused again. Whats the point of parties? As far as i can tell, their sole purpose is to form, gain 6 members, and create a country, after which the party will never be used again. Especially if its limited to 6 members. After that all group interaction will be via country and not by party. Is there even any reason to have a party beyond that 30 second time slot when you create a country?

I really love the chest idea!!! I know people are saying its survival hide your chests, but there's no such thing as hiding a chest nowadays, since the first map I've been robbed over and over, I've hid deep underground, under lava & no air caves & all of them have been robbed. People keep using exploits and xrays to find chests so locking them really is the only option :P but as well there should be commands to share with friends & countries or all. I'm glad that finally I can make an actual vault in a convenient location & not a 10min adventure to grab some wool XD

as for the countires I really like this idea and love risk, my only concern is what if someone just wants to build and not deal with countires thretening to take them over? Can some people opt out of the whole war aspect, I personally like building in one area away from others with my friends and would be worried about being attacked while away and loseing everything :P

key to winning risk is Australia XD

I am starting not to like the country idea. I like what it is and all I just despise how they grow. I feel they should remain closer to the aspects of the realm. I think that they should grow by block count, not by conquering. If we have a super small map there will be nowhere for the creative builders to go and found a country and the way this new system is going NCC's will be all but possible!

I say we either have a bigger map so that NCC's can live in peace (with the right rules to protect them) or we keep the countries more like realms!

Other than that MR 3.0 is pretty cool. But with the way the countries are going I am starting to hate it. We need to at least try to appeal to all players, and that includes those who are creative builders. Please understand what I mean when I say that.

I personally am going to be a part of a NCC. With this new system it is truly impossible, especialy with the majorly small map. With a smaller map the countries will be majorly close and the NCC's will never prosper but be destroyed or conquered. WHY?!?!

Most countries will still be able to grow peacefully. There are 10,000 UN plots to take. As long as you don't start out right next to someone, you should be fine. And just like in realms, if you start out right next to someone, expect some disputes.

The only bit of control lacking from realms is the ability to control who joins. With the plot system we are already being given a much higher amount of control than we had with realms in choosing how the country expands. Instead of being forced to expand in a square or mashed into odd rectangles, we can choose to grow over scenic spots or other nice locations.

As for making the map bigger, why? That doesn't change anything, at all, in any way, shape, form or manner. Everything you complain about will still be there, it will just take an extra week to get to you. Expanding the borders is not a panacea. Instead of asking for that, determine what your real problem is and examine solutions that would actually fix that problem and not simply push it aside for a short time.

Intelli one question. Will there be a way to make it so people can't take your country. Maybe if you get 3-4 sections put together( they must be touching) then those 3-4 would be unconquerable BUT if they are not touching (like if you have them all 2 sections apart) they can be conquered.

No one in their right mind will build non-adjacent plots without expecting them to be almost instantly conquered. If you make adjacent plots unconquerable, what would be the fun in that? The new system is to stop realms from being static plots of land that no one can touch, not the other way around.

Technically, we're going from an automatic realm expansion system to a manual realm expansion system. I know you don't want to do the work to put in all those blocks you've set into the lands defenses yourself, and use those blocks to conquer new ones, but, this technically is survival.

I honestly would propose the auto-antigriefing measures for the classic game that's being developed, to be honest, since people aren't completely agreeing with the new system... we've got what, a 2/3ds yes to no? Well, let's still argue huh? We'll find that middle ground yet!

This does not make sense.
Intelli wrote:Now, if a group of users wish to start their own country, it’s a fairly simple process.
1. Get a party of 6 players
2. The party leader must have 60 diamonds.
3. Type “/country create <name>”.
Kerovon wrote:There are currently 163 realms. I wouldn't be surprised if we end up with 10-15 countries.
There are many people on this server. If they want to make a country, then sure, get six people to make one. But honestly, what is the use? They spend 60 diamonds and then get taken over easily.

Look at that, 60 diamonds down the drain. 60 diamonds that they could have used for something else.

Do you understand what I am getting at? If you want to make a country and someone's huge country takes you over, all your hard work will be for nothing.

Also, there is another flaw. Someone wants to make a country, but their freinds are already in countries. They would have to get help from a bunch of nubs that they don't know or trust. They could make a country, progress a lot, become rich and then the nubs would steal all the diamonds and leave.
