Would it not be best to just set it so PVP can be toggled in the Nether and defaults as off? If we are to go by the spawn signs as our rules for the Nether than any killing in the Nether could be considered griefing. You could kill me right half way down the road and now I have to walk all the way back. You have caused me grief.

I don't think this is good. I'd rather it be no holds barred outside of portal rooms, everything or nothing, but if this is how it is to be I will be recording my Nether trips from now on with Fraps and posting ban requests afterwards I guess.

We need a set of rules, Intelli, approved by you, that address all aspects of the nether. The miscommunication amOngst the players has gone on far too long, and with the upcoming release of the ender, things are sure to only get more hectic. Maybe a group of us wants to create one, then get it approved?

Good riddance, it was the first time my brother crash31560 decides to purchase a glowstone, not to mention the first time tehbomb didn't hit the lever to close the door at his shop, and zellbud came in (interrupted the trade, and wasn't banned for some reason) and murdered him for it.

So this would be why a bit more clarification on the Nether PVP would be appreciated. First let me say we're not looking to get anyone banned. I had said that initially I would post a ban request but that is overkill.

So I'm in the Nether walking over to Spawn city. I get to the Spawn city portal and it is destroyed. While I was asking Shampoo to come check it out CirJohn came and killed me while I was next to the portal area. No video of that one. I walked back over to the portal from Roanoke and as soon as it was fixed I started getting filled with arrows by Cirjohn and again killed. I actually even walked towards him so he could see I was unarmed. You'll see I was unarmed in the video.

Not only was I next to a spawn portal but I also had to walk all the way there twice from Roanoke. That could be considered causing grief right? Do I really care that I was killed? Not at all. I just wanted to show how this could be bad. Do we really want to ban CirJohn?

Surgeonbsg, um why would you walk towards someone trying to kill you? Any normal person would take this as aggresive behavor (weither or not you have a weapon in your hand at that second).

If you did not want him to attack you, first dont be in the nether, second be in a portal room (there is no portal room for the lower spawn city portal atm), third dont walk towards someone (try to hide and msg him what you are doing).

As it stands it is FULL PVP in the nether outside of spawn rooms. Dont go to the nether unless you expect to die. I know I do.

Also I walked towards him so you could see his name clearly in the video and he could see I was clearly unarmed.

In my opinion, Nether should be full anarchy, no rules. If you get someone to make rules about it, it will just be a pain to make, enforce, and argue. They are busy enough. You want the nether, you have to accept the risk that comes with it. On the other hand I think that navigation signs should never be destroyed. Sooo I guess that I'm a bit of a hypocrite... But I love killing people there, I love hunting for revenge to those who killed me. Besides its good for the economy!

EDIT: and SurgeonBSG. You are the biggest hypocrite. You killed me many times in the nether, and refused to return my items. You slaughtered me when I publicly said I only wanted to walk through, and I had no items. I understand this is all fair and within the rules, and as such I never complained about it, nor am I now. I set out on many revenge missions against you. How can you even begin to complain that you got killed? You brutally slaughter people all the time!

SurgeonBSG, gets my point. If portal camping is against the rules because it causes greif, why are PVP and stealing perfectly acceptable?
I received my first warning ever on Minerealm for portal camping, but at the time I thought it was allowed. Either way, I'm keeping my word not to portal camp, and I am NOT defending it, but I would like to clear up this confusion.
So once again, I request official nether rules.
