Going to go up to Dartmoor hopefully this evening and try and spot some Meteors.
Probably will be cloudy.

I'm liking the days this'll be visible. I'm fortunate enough/cursed horribly, and live in a small area. Tot's snagging a few people and going sky watching in a field.

For those of you who live in cities, and have access to things to do and bright offensive horrible lights that ruin the beauty of the midnight sky with halogen based witchery, hit me up for pictures. Or don't, and I'll hunt down your number and stalk you with pictures of the sky for the next sixteen months.

I do it because I care people, because I care.

I'm currently on vacation up northern california near one of the edison lakes. Last night around midnight I went with family to the lakeside and located Perseus, we sat and watched that area of the sky and didnt see much. A tad disappointing but it was still cool to see any meteorites at all for us because we live in a very brightly lit Los Angeles suburb. After about 40 minutes of waiting for things to pick up we finally decided to leave.

We're going to give it another try tonight but the Perseid showers were supposed to have peaked last night. I suppose if we'd stayed out there all night we might have seen a bit more impressive display. Its my understanding that a good meteorite shower can produce dozens of meteorites a minute, and we maybe saw 12 the whole time we were out there. Is anyone else having better luck?

I missed them, want to know why? Because i work at night. -.- i love meteor showers. Ive been kinda bummed.
