I disagree. I was just exploring yesterday, and the map is amazing. Wiping all the stuff in public land would be a shame.

If you want tons of untouched land, play single player. I'd personally love to see the gameplay dynamics that would occur if the map was 100% private realms.

So there'd be no room for expansion? I remember when I played months ago it was annoying enough waiting for staff so i could get permission to remove 2 chests and a cobble hut that was abandoned and in my way of building. The oceans can get terra formed, but old Vortex was made over an ocean. It's not fun or easy. And there's no caves trees hills or other things.
I don't think the map should be cleared, yet. But an expansion is much needed.

And about trees. Not only trees are low, this goes for everything caves, land, dungeons natural surroundings, ECT.

Expansion sure but not 20kx20k and here is why because spawn will not be centered and extremely far from most places on the map. However we could expand 5k in each direction to make it centered. Either way this suggestion is not specific enough. I would like to see it expanded x amount in each direction though.

Total map wipe? No, for obvious reasons, not to mention that Intelli has promised not to.

Map expansion? No, both for performance and because everything would be so far away.

Public land wipe? Not only would this destroy the work of many new players, and older players who have had their realms disbanded for whatever reason, it would also have the same jarring effect as it did last time: biomes would either be reset or be relocated, which would be both ugly and inconvenient.

Hmmm... what if we had a standard procedure for requesting that kind of permission on the forum? Say, a template including realm coordinates, a photo of the build you want to remove, and a brief description of what you want to do with the space. Just post it in a forum thread and leave it until a staff member gets around to it.

Seems like it could be a win-win for the staff and the other players... staff have one less thing to be bugged about during their playing time, and players can just follow the forum thread while waiting for a verdict rather than constantly watching in-game for an available staff member. Furthermore, by posting it in a public forum thread instead of an in-game PM to staff, other players with knowledge of the build in question could provide info (e.g. "that's my friend's stuff, he's trying to get enough credits to buy the realm" or "that was built a long time ago by so-and-so, who hasn't been online in nearly a year").

tl;dr hey staff and other people, what about requesting permission to remove old public-realm stuff on the forums instead of in-game?

Because some people, like me actual have limits on how long I can stay on. I dot have a hour or two to wait. I have a 2 hour limit and i like to get stuff done with the time i do have.

The only problem I have with public land wipes is that one can go from a house on the hills to a floating chunk of land that doesn't fit in the current landscape at all.
While some of you can say "Well, that's not too bad, just terraform it down" all I can say to you is YOU terraform down 5, 6, 7 or more realms in various locations to match the realms around it. It's not being lazy, that would genuinely take a lot of time to make work.
And while I can get over that, and understand that there are new biomes that do need implementing, Don't go around saying that it will make the server look better. All public land wipes do is make the Private realms seem out of place and then create a (very) temporary solution to making public land look just a tiny bit better.

If you don't like the way a public realm looks, ask a staff member if you can tear it down and terraform it back to it's original setting, if you're worried about newbies touching it later, buy it.
Otherwise, the wilderness is what's meant to be wiped often enough to keep new biomes/blocks in the game. There's no need for a server wide wipe, nor an expansion, or even a public land wipe.

Of course that's right. However, certain (few) realms do not look so very beautiful. My brother spent some hours to undo all the ugly cobble that my neighbour did. In addition, the realm is full of death traps (now covered with dirt), which make digging nearly impossible. I am not sure about the workload for you, but perhaps it would be an idea to reset/wipe specific realms. Would that work for you?

I voted no just cause as much as I want to see the map updated and not given a bandaid solution with a map extension.

I would only go with a full map wipe if Intelli ever changed the currency or something major was changing and then one would prob be needed. Also with a full map wipe he should claim the 4x4 spawn realms and create a nicer starting zone then how it is now.

Wiping public realms is much better to do atm IMO. I would end up selling most of mine before hand though and buy em back after the wipe. Of course would be nice if something was in place to stop others from claiming it before I could buy it back and such.
