Ok, I feel as if it's now time to respond to people in this thread. Firstly, I would like to thank you guys for keeping it civil.

You're right. I'll take out earning credits from placing/breaking blocks also.
You're point is fair. However, credits from blocks are the core point of game play and are completely fair and ethical, whereas the credit incentive is not. Let me explain why in my next response:
Also, credits have nothing to do with being legit. We could give each player a million credits, and we'd still be a legit server.
Another fair point. Let me pose this though:
100 credits= 1 diamond
1 diamond spawned in= Un-legit
Using transitive property: 100 credits spawned in= Un-legit
Technically, the legit server aspect is still kept at an immediate thought. But when looking into it, one could argue that minerealm has not retained it's 100% legit state.

I didnt see you complaining when people were rewarded credits for saying Hello to new players. In fact you were right there with them.
Just because you didn't see me complaining doesn't mean I wasn't. I personally was opposed to this occurrence as well, but considering it was soon removed I had no chance to protest about it.
MineRealm Popup wrote:Vote for minerealm for a chance of 10k (credits).
Well, assuming this chance is a reality, then credits are being spawned in. Did I specify that the amount bothers me? Although not everybody is getting 10,000 credits, many people are getting at least 100 credits.
Sounds like a drawing of those who vote. You arent guaranteed it. It's pretty much a scratchie ticket with your price being a vote for a server you love. Stop complaining.
I am making a suggestion in the Ideas/Suggestions thread and I am arguing my point as civilly as I can. I am not complaining.
Prodigy9 wrote:I sort of like the free credits, but I can see why others wouldn't. What if it was made into a lottery--at the end of each month, one player can get a large prize (say, 5,000 credits), while some other players get smaller amounts (say, a few getting 1,000 credits each, and many getting 200 each). For each vote cast during that month, the player gets one lottery ticket, and the credits are automatically added to the account.
As you often do, you have proposed an additional option of which I find quite interesting, appreciate, and at least somewhat agree with. As I often propose these as well, why not just an achievement for voting instead of a credit incentive or a lottery?
There would still be an incentive for voting, but instead of a direct payoff of credits for votes, it only provides a chance (and a darn small chance, in the case of the top prize) of getting something for your time.
Again, I really appreciate your attempts at compensation. These ideas being spit balled around can hopefully change the server for the better. But, as ninjalo said, it's up to Intelli.
DGannon wrote:Yes. You only get a few credits that mean nothing to wealthy people, but the chance for a decent amount can be helpful to newer players. So not only does voting expose the server to new players, but can help retain new players. The more active players there are, the better.
If it means nothing to wealthy players, then we can assume they wouldn't care if it was terminated. If it drastically changes new player's wealth, then it would be unfair for the many who had to work to obtain their first, and most difficult to receive, 10k.
As a final thing to say, I would like to ask a question to Intelli and solely to Intelli:
Forgive me if this comes off as rude in any way, as I do not mean it to be, but why are you folding back on your standards of being above bribing for votes? If the reason is somehow linked to a benefit from being #1 on server lists, then by all means, reject this as you will. But if this is a recent change that has no concrete purpose, I ask of you to have second thoughts. MineRealm can't say it's the most played server, the most fun server (although many people do say this, including me), or the most interesting server. But it can say two things. These would be that it's legitimate, and that it's community is a welcoming and unique one. Since the community will never dull, shouldn't we be concerned about staying proud and legit? I do not mean to attack you personally, as I love this server and I guarantee you have reasons for every action. But, if you could justify those reasons or explain them to me, I would feel a lot better. I think this recent change was for the worse, but if there was a hidden reason for it, then I trust in you to be able to do what is right. I ask you to think about why you are doing this, and think about the weight of that versus the weight of the community's wants. Also, I would like to thank you for making a server
so excellent that my main concern is a few unearned credits being added into the system.
