Minerealm is a legit server. Here credits is earned by effort. Every time player buy / sell with credits, 10% of the effort is gone into thin air.

What is good about 10% tax:
- Reduced amounts of trades = slightly reduced server lag.
- Credits need to be spent, else economy will inflate. ( /purchase realm or realm disbands is other ways to use credits)

What is good about 5% tax or 0% tax.
- Only 5% / no effort lost when trading, and still keeping it a legit server.
- People will more likely sell / buy stuff.

Please post your opinion.

The economy is getting a bit tough, as we have certain methods used to monopolize one item. However, no tax would just suck. Realms would start to seem cheaper and cheaper, because money can't be lost, but it can be gained. 5% might be a nice option, but Intelli still might have to counteract inflation somehow.

The verdict:

0%- No way!
5%- Sounds good, but it needs to be accompanied by another idea.
10%- Also is good.

Credits have to be used (for good), else the credits keeps piling up, but 10% is rather much in my opinion.

I agree completely with using 10% tax, as it then adds a cost to spending money. For example if you buy a realm and re-sell it immediately then you automatically lose 1000cr. If this was not the case someone could go round and buy many realms, and then when the amount of available land decreased, they could then sell them off to players for hugely exaggerated prices, with the knowing that if no one bought the land, they could sell it back for exactly the same price they bought it for.

On this basis I disagree with your proposal.

Edit: I think however, that something should be done with the tax annual, maybe using a percentage of it to fund an annual, ten place lottery, with the winner getting 10%, second getting 9% etc. I think this would make players feel that even if they lose money through tax, they still have a chance to get it back, and it isn't just stored in code form, never to re-enter minerealm.

I marked the key issue in bold. Since credits can be generated out of thin air, there also has to be a way to make them occasionally disappear into thin air. I voted against the proposal to prevent inflation; I might be convinced to support it, though, if an alternative way of taking credits out of circulation is proposed.

Ok but how should you pay for an realm then?
I vote no for a full credits wipe. But if somehow Inteli could make the 10% tax usefull like if you could implemeant a city budget in the game that only the citys founder could use it.

I think it might actually be better to actually put the taxes to use. Have those funds allocated to an admin account and have a few trusted staff members use the funds.

-Have the server purchase some of the realms around spawn
-Pay users a fee to do public works projects such as construction in high traffic areas
-Pay users to clean up the public areas caused by the map wipe.
-Pretty much anything that would be a community project could actually be funded by the staff...

I'm sure there's lots of ways those taxes could be recycled within the game. If used properly they could even help control the inflation caused by the monopolizing of certain rare resources.

You earn more credits duh.

btw... I didn't ask for a vote and tbh I know people aren't going to like it. Ask me if I care. I just want Intelli to do it and give no warning. Would be extremely hilarious and force people to start selling again at normal prices.
