anarchaos is annoying but I do recall somebody ban requesting somebody because they didn't set an increment amount on their auction and refused to be ripped off.

What you call a "mini-mod" most people would call a good citizen; when you report wrongdoing to the staff, you help to enforce the rules of the server. This idea could at least be considered (though it's still not a very good one) if it wasn't so blatantly self-serving.

but to the general player base (Myself included) this idea is completely moronic.
You're saying this purely because I hurt your feelings once, because you don't like me, and because you love to act like a mini-mod.
1.) No one of the face of the planet has ever truly hurt my feelings. Ever. 2.) That part is true. 3.) If by being a "mini-mod" you mean informing players of the rules and asking that they please adhere to them, then yes I am a mini-mod on almost a daily basis. Putting a cap on ban requests is moronic because sometimes we get a large group of new players who break the rules constantly but aren't caught by Admins, moderators, or the server automatically and we need to bring their wrong-doings to the attention of the staff via the forums.

-EDIT-
What reason could you possibly have for wanting to cap one of the ways we remove idiots, trolls, rule-breakers, etc from the server?? Ban requests that lack evidence or are unnecessary can be denied by the staff members and that is usually the end of it.

Newsflash: You are not an admin. You are not a mod. You are a player. You have no power. What you do amounts to clogging up the public chat, while trying to make yourself look like you have the slightest amount of authority, which you don't. You feel the need to poke your nose into other people's affairs, which is clearly none of your business. If someone is doing something wrong TO YOU PERSONALLY, then it makes sense to quote the rules. But if you go looking for infractions or rule breakers for no other reason than to look like a self-appointed sherrif, then it borders on impersonating a mod/admin. When and if your staff application is approved, then by all means feel free to enforce server rules. Until then, you're just a regular player like everyone else with no power, no authority, and no business pretending to enforce the rules.

If you read the original post properly, you'd see that I didn't suggest this at all.

I'm saying that there should be a cap on FAILED ban requests. Ban requests which have little or no chance of being approved, and are done out of spite, malice, petty grudges and just plain old not liking someone. There are loads of examples where people have literally made up charges, changed facts, and claimed to have personally witnessed something when it's simply not true at all.

Submitting a ban request against someone who has not in fact not broken any rules, AS VERIFIED BY AN ADMIN BY A DENIED BAN REQUEST, should in and of itself be a bannable offense.

So, in your opinion, attracting new players' attention or the attention of people doing wrong to rules so they do not get banned for not obeying the rules is poking one's nose into other peoples' affairs or playing sheriff? Actually, I think it's rather fair play.

I too give advice to such players regardless of being a mod/admin. It has got nothing to do with "making myself look like having the slightest amount of authority" - I just want to be nice. It's not about pretending to enforce the rules but to make those people aware of the rules MineRealm is based upon.

I think there's a difference between an occasional friendly reminder to new players, which i agree is totally legitimate, and certain players thinking of themselves as being mods when there aren't any mods around (and even sometimes when they are).

Helpbot does a good job of informing people of some basic rules, which I agree is necessary. But consider the following scenario which happens on a DAILY basis:

New Player: Oh, I died! (SWEAR WORD)

Helpbot: New Player, if you swear again, you will be banned.

New Player: Oops! Sorry, I won't swear again!

Mini-mod: Hey New Player! I got a screencap of you swearing! If you don't do whatever I tell you, I'll post this screencap and you'll get banned!

New Player: It was an accident, I already said I won't do it again.

Mini-mod: I don't like your attitude! If you give me any more lip, I am submitting a ban request. Apologize to me immediately.

New Player: Look, I didn't know that on this server, (SWEAR WORD) is considered swearing.

Mini-mod: That's it. Ban request submitted.

Friend of Mini-mod: I also posted in the ban request. I don't like New Player because he's obviously a troll and a troublemaker and a (SWEAR WORD). (SWEAR WORD) him, and (SWEAR WORD) his mother.

Any screenshots of that conversation?

Any screenshots of that conversation?

So here was the situation. I was playing the other day, Luelle was there, in addition to a bunch of other players.

Luelle banned me for "showing others how to evade the swear filter", because mitchie and other mini-mods were continuously whining and complaining about it.

At the same time that mitchie was telling luelle what a terrible player I am and how I should be banned, I grabbed a small sample of all the infractions that get ignored completely by both mods and mini-mods alike.

I submit the following screenshots as proof that I am being targeted specifically while other more serious infractions go unnoticed.
