I agree that white-list would be nice, maybe anyone with like 5+ rep would be white-listed? This would stop greifers/Spammers/Hackers coming on just for the purpose of causing some trouble.

I don't think going by rep alone would be a very good idea... Considering its not accurate. For example i was banned not too long ago for 15 minutes, for suspecting to dupe diamonds, and because of this it gimped my rep hard(or atleast i suspect that's why i just hit 5/10 rep...)

But either way, maybe via a combination of both rep(if the person is above 5/10 they can get on without applying), and applications for those bellow 5/10 rep.

Another alternative would be to allow everyone on it, except for "noobs" with green tags, who haven't played for more then 24 hours. If someone's getting on creative for the sole purpose of grieffing, chances are that they'll be far too lazy to wait the 24 hours, or forget about it the next day.

I've always preferred survival over creative (building something impressive isn't as satisfying when you have infinite diamonds, glowstone, and other nice materials at your fingertips), but if the server comes back I'll look forward to seeing what others build.

Rather than White listing, instead have it so that anyone can visit the server, but only those okay'd by mods and admins may build. Map wide building privs'.

I mean its not much fun unless people can actually see and be wowed at what you've built.

I assuming a good format for the creative server would be no hunger, unlimited blocks and invulnerability, to focus purely on creative constructions.

Hmm, a possibility. In any case I think this would be a good chance if creative was brought back to expand the number of moderators. Both Survival and Creative need active policing to be well run. If we want Minerealm to continue to survive and thrive as a server we need to have new players to keep numbers up. People are more likely to play longer on a server that has higher numbers playing and an active community. I also think that having a mod present at all times, keeps the player community re-asured that help is on had for the usual incidents, accidents and conflicts that will always occur.

A server I once played on.... Had a dedicated newbie area. An alternate spawn point for non-members. They had to build something good and then have it approved by a highly 'ranked' player.

It could work... But would probably be inconvenient. And who knows if even the mods know a good build when they see one xD

i like your thinking, especially about having a mod on at all times. Having spoken to Lm108 a lot about that though, Intelli is reluctant to have more staff members for some reason or another, which is why we only have staff online during the american afternoon/evening/night most times. It's a shame, i know, as there's a lot of folks who don't get help because they 're never online when staff are....
