Since no information has been released about the plans for implementing Jungle products into Minerealm, I propose that a "natural" source be made available. Trees already drop saplings so I would suggest that whenever a sapling drops from breaking/decaying leaves, 1% or fewer of the them should be saplings for any of the 4 tree types (aka, a sapling roulette).

Pros: This would ensure that Jungle trees would enter circulation and that no person or group could attain an unfair monopoly on them because they are not tied to realms that can be purchased. The sheer rareness of the drop would ensure that only those who put some effort into getting them would get any number of them and they could thus maintain a fair market value for those who are lazier. Would not require any item spawns, chunk reset/import, or map expansion.

Cons: Probably requires Intelli to program. Intelli may have incompatible plans in the works already. Makes Minerealm just a tiny bit more "chocolaty" by modifying "natural" item drops. Does not help with the Ocelots not being available problem.

A similar idea could be implemented for ferns when using bonemeal on grass since I believe they also only appear in jungle biomes, although there has been less interest in them.

Spawning saplings is not legit. I might add here that I would like to see some real naturally formed jungles rather than having to resort to man made ones. then there's the point of cats spawning only in jungle biomes. you can spawn and plant the trees, but cats won't spawn there.

there's only one proper solution: expand the map a bit.

Just because the server doesn't have the new type of wood, the new biome and a silly little cat? Updates for Minecraft will be coming often. New things will be introduced all the time. Personally, I can see where Intelli is coming from by NOT doing much about this update. Say for example he did extend the map, spawn some items or reset public land - give it a little while, a month or two, and there will be another Minecraft update. Maybe with more new types of block, biomes or animals. Then what? Intelli has to extend the map again? Wipe public land again? Keep spawning all these new items on a LEGIT server?

I just think people need to stop whining about not having a couple of new items in game. If you don't like the server because it doesn't have the new wood, the new jungle biome or the new cats then in my eyes, you should do one.

You are correct. There will always be new updates and new items to add. In other words there will always be more excuses to wait. This whole argument that this is a legit server was made invalid way before I started playing here and dupers were selling off stacks of diamonds and glowstone. Those items are out there. Even if it's only a few this whole idea of 100% legit is false. I fail to see the additional harm that would be caused in this case.

Though I reserve hope that Intelli rejected this because he has another way to bring in these items in mind.
