I can see both sides of the issue, but I can also see where everyone yelling it out to be a fraud is wrong. My church has worked with Invisible Children multiple times in the past few years and their causes seem to be good causes. If you want to run a company and raise awareness on such a mass level it's going to cost money... you have to spend money in the first place to earn money to put towards the cause.

Also, just realized, if you go back and look at the post a picture of yourself thread... I am wearing an Invisible Children shirt there.
Yes, but everyone knows the unitarian universalists are a cult.

On a serious note: I find it funny that "Kony 2012" is becoming so well known. There are people much closer to home, in Mexico and South America, that have claimed a lot more lives than him. FARC ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Revolution ... f_Colombia ) uses child soldiers, and has been operating since the 1950's. One of their leaders was killed this November, and all it got is a 25 word blurb in the paper. They are also known to execute civilians, use landmines and mortars, commit kidnapping and extortion, and make their money off of the Columbian cocaine cartels. Kony is small fry compared to them.

I support Kony 2012, but seeing all of these arguments on here, I have decided not to donate. besides, all you really need to do is be aware of their cause and spread the word.

EDIT:

I knew about that kind of crap going on decades ago, but had no idea that it was STILL happening. Strange, it's almost like the news media doesn't report on massive amounts of violence when the violence in question is carried out by Marxists.

Here's some shocking statistics: ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mexican_Drug_War )

The Mexican drug war has a death toll of approximately 47554, from 2006 to now (2012).

16,466 were killed in 2011.

15,273 were killed in 2010.

People killed in 2010 by the LRA (Kony) : Approximately 100.

Mexico is a heck of a lot closer to the US of A and Canada than Uganda.

Maybe we should figure out our own problems first.

Just wait until we find out a 500 mile wide asteroid is headed for Earth...

Also. What if Invisible Children, Inc has a plan like this:

1. Spend what some people on this forum think is way too much on film-making (spreading awareness)
2. As a result of 1. raise incredibly huge awareness
3. In terms of donations, the more people who know about the cause, the more people who are willing to donate to things like it will find out about it and donate
4. they receive a large increase in donations due to 3.
5. they then spend more money on the cause directly, and at the same time possibly even keep the same awareness spreading funding.

They don't need 10+ movies. One is enough to get their message across and be as efficient with donor money as possible. They're making a freaking Star Wars saga out of this with how many movies they make..
