If you'd taken the $500 he kind of bribed you with, I don't think that suing will be an option regardless of if you signed anything or not.. I suppose it can't be proven that you accepted the money, but if there's reason to believe you did, then a court might just throw out the case.
I myself think that people and corporations resort to legal action far too much, sometimes for silly things (like that woman that sued McDonalds because her coffee was hot and she spilled it on herself). But in this case, I'd understand the choice to sue someone that hit you with a motorcycle, at least to pay for damages. I've never quite understood how its fair to make tons of money from anything other than the person having to pay for medical bills though.. I feel like that takes advantage of the system a little. I mean yeah, some pain and suffering money is what I think you'd be entitled to, but if you planned on going for a huge sum of money for your own recreational use, I don't find that morally right.
Regardless, good luck in any lawsuit you might bring forth, I just hope that you don't get greedy like some people in the world who resort to suing for an income basically.
