Photoshop is the BEST for everything; and just Adobe stuff in general for that matter.

Also just to keep on throwing this image out there over and over again, something I made to express my feelings on a graphic design thread a while back:

Adobe will die out with Flash.

I (used to use) Photoshop all the time back in high school. Actually got really good at using the vector path tools in it. Preferred Photoshop for that over Illustrator, actually. I've got most of what I've made over on my deviantart now.
