/kill would make you die / drop your items, and take you to spawn. However, your health bar would NOT change.

Why? Because /kill is lame.

Then yes. At least this will force people to eat food rather than exploit /kill all the time.

Regular death would still reset both bars though?

If yes then ya /kill doesn't need to reset your bars. For a little more effort you can fall from a great height or hug a cactus or tick off a mob or drown yourself or..hmm..no lava because items burn up..how else can you die?

I don't even understand what the point of this is... I like the kill command. I rarely use it but when i'm someplace with 0 food and no supplies being able to kill myself is kinda handy... I see no reason for this to be changed...

The point (Im guessing), is to make you play the game rather then, in that situation ^ , just typing /kill, getting all your health back and getting plonked at spawn.

If what Intelli is suggesting was implimented it would mean you could no longer simply /kill to gain all your health back like many people do. You would have to for example /spawn, find food etc to gain your health back.

I see every need for this.

However,

There is a problem I have just thought of. People can currently /kill to gain all their health back. If this was implimented they could no longer do that.

What is stopping them from killing themselves in another way, for example jumping off a tall cliff? By killing themselves like this, they would die, respawn at spawn and have all their health back. Exactly like the current /kill does. So I guess this system would be worthless as you can just kill yourself anyway to gain your health back :L
