So, some people have an issue with pressure plates, buttons, etc. being accessible in Private Realms of theirs.

This is a list of ps stone protections optional on a Prison Server I frequently play on;

Of course, the prices, block themes, and everything else are customizable, I highlighted the things I thought in particular should be implemented for a fee to prevent pressure plates from being accessed, or to prevent "/pvp on" in your realms.
Prison Server wrote:BLOCKS & PRICES:

Diamond Block [Land Protection T1]
Price: $175,000
Limit: 2
When placed, players will not be able to break any blocks within the protected area. Does NOT stop a player from entering chests.

Lapis Block [Land Protection T2]
Price: $350,000
Limit: 2
When placed, players will not be able to break any blocks within the protected area. Does NOT stop a player from entering chests.

Stone Brick Block [Land Protection T3]
Price: $700,000
Limit: 2
When placed, players will not be able to break any blocks within the protected area. Does NOT stop a player from entering chests.

Gold Block [Damage Defense]
Price: $75,000
Limit: 2
When placed, players who are within the protected area will take half a heart of damage in rapid increments. To avoid taking damage, you must sneak.

Iron Block [Use Protection]
Price: $75,000
Limit: 3
When placed it protects stone buttons, stone pressure plates, and levers that are placed directly on or above the protection block.

Obsidian Block [Chest Protection]
Price: $125,250
Limit: 2
When placed, it protects chest making it impossible for players that aren't on the allowed list to access the chest.

Brick Block [PvP Protection]
Price: $100,000
Limit: 2
When placed, the protected area will no longer be a PvP Zone.

Pumpkin [Forest Block]
Price: $25,000
Limit: No Limit - No Refund
When placed, the surrounding area will turn in a faux forest, masking and camouflaging your base. Once it is placed you can not pick it backup - therefore no refund is available.

Note Block [Snitch Block]
Price: $50,000
Limit: 2
When placed, you will be alarmed and notified when a player enters your protected area. Also, you will be told if that players places a block, breaks a block, etc.

Note: If your clan is at war the enemy clan will be able to bypass your protection.

Each land protection block will protect 1,331 blocks. You have to manually set the perimeter. To do so, follow these few steps;

Type /ps on
Place the block on the ground (At this time the money will be withdrawn from your account)
Sneak + left click the block
Left click all corners that you want protected (At least one low and one high corner)
Left click the original block to complete

If not done this way, the block will automatically protect the area around it.

To add people to the protected area, or to allow your clan to be able to use the land;

/ps allow [player] - allows a player into your land
/ps allow c:[tag] - allows a clan into your land
/ps allow * - allows everyone into your land
Naturally, the whole overworld is pvp where this came from, but some of the ps stones could be fashioned into the realm system, with some variables changed or modified to fit the credit system as well.

The base camouflaging idea is particularly neat for building, and the Damage Protection is also rather interesting, you see a diamond block somewhere in the wild, approach it, only to be killed by thin air damage protection.

Once again, these are just ideas that I thought were cool / interesting, maybe some variations could be implemented, but honestly with the amount of neglect to the communities ideas that is dealt it's not likely anyones suggestions pass.

Even if Intelli implements a feature that makes pressure plates / buttons / etc unusable in private realms by non-realm-owners, I don't see the need to create an entirely new system of block protections. It could simply be made that those features cannot be activated in realms where you do not have rights--pressing a button, for example, would not do anything and would give a notification similar to the one obtained when placing/breaking blocks in a private realm.

I stated numerous times that it could be fashioned into the current realm and credit system, and that the quote is just there to see how the server it originated from used it.

Someone didn't read the entire post. :P

Tl;Dr:

It's not suggesting we implement the block system, but simply that we implement some of the protections, and modifications to allow /pvp on or not, and to auto-camo your base, or prevent entry with damage protection.

-Edit-

I'd like to see what we could do with the Snitch Block precedents, maybe it would be nice to know when people are in your realms so you can come visit them, or show them around.

I don't see how camoing your base would work. The forest idea wouldn't work, because leaves and wood blocks might replace planks, cobble, stone bricks, etc. Also, what's the protected area? As in LxWxH.

That's the intriguing part. I've never done it on the original server it came from, so I'm actually wondering how it works. Sounded really cool though.

As for LxWxH, we previously mentioned that it would follow the same realm system, so it would basically camo your realm.

The only redstone protected is repeaters, and I believe it should stay that way. This allows others to use redstone circuits you've created.

If you don't want your redstone to be usable by others, then carry around a torch instead of placing a switch/button/plate/detector/etc.

I completely agree. This 'prison' server is rather boring in my eyes. Its work, work, work and not much gain, and to be honest, the protection system is no better. Keep it seperate, and keep the current system.

It would be cool to incorporate some of that into our server. There are quite a few security issues that arise although miner, that could be fixed with some of this stuff.
