Hey guys,
Just wondering about a little issue I ran into when I logged in today, I was extending my realms yesterday, and although I didn't have the credits to purchase the realm immediately, I leveled most of the realm, and began extending one of my structures into it as well, intending on purchasing it shortly after. Seeing as today was Christmas eve, I didn't have a chance to get on and obtain the necessary credits to make the purchase just yet.
To my surprise however, my neighbor on the opposite side of the road from me decided it looked nice enough to suddenly purchase, and bought it out before I was able to make the credits. It clearly was going to be a part of my existing realms, as it is adjacent to two others, and kiddy corner from a third, so now I cannot complete what I was intending on building.
This to me seems a little out of line, and was just wondering if i could get some feedback as to if this means something should be done, or if i'm more or less 'SOL'.

I have no idea if that is allowed or not but if I were to guess I'd say no. This is why I moved really far from anyone.

It is not allowed, if they can't look around a realm before they buy it to be sure you aren't buying land that is rightfully someone, else's then they must be either retarded or have no respect for the rules, as they obviously have no respect for your things.

Yeah, I'm thinking thats the case. He knew I was planning on buying it and was talking about how much he 'liked my realms' and wanted to be a part of them. Then he buys the one I'm building in and planning on purchasing next, and tries to just 'give me permissions'...
I mean its clear he knew my intentions and I'm a little upset about the situation, hopefully I could get a mod/admin's input on this?

I must stress the importance of talking to the other player first and trying to reason things out.
Acquiring additional lands when there are neighbours in close proximity will lead to competition for territory.
Depending how each player deals and responds to the other can have wildly different outcomes.
On oneside you have those who will work together and draw up agreements to minimise conflict on the otherside the resulting greed and pride between players will result in bitter arguments and resentment.


Generally when referring to the rules these 2 are relevant.
2. Please place a sign on your property, to claim the area.
3. Only build on land that has not been claimed, or that you have permission to build on.

Did you claim the land? Did you build any buildings? These usually meaning building large structures, etc.
Placing signs, etc.

Or, alternatively, you could start logging every single thing the other person does. Stalk them around MR all day, every day, always logging with fraps. Eventually, they will do something, or perhaps enough minor things will add up, and you can get them banned. Then you just need to wait a bit, and poof, the realm is yours.

This is the other option besides kingofturves "happiness and friendship hug-a-tree hippy commie let's-talk-about-our-feelings" stuff.

on them over that grey area of minerealm law. Land law.
Which also in real life, there is no where else in law that people have launched such costly legal battles and appealling up to the highest courts to rage argument and counter argument, in some cases over stripes of land smaller than the size of most family cars.
