Pointless to give support now, this app is dead. Kress cut it down with brutal efficiency and then Shamp finished it off with callous disregard while it lay bleeding on the ground.

For those who have no idea why even Shamp's comment hurt the app, I will give a simplistic explanation, on the grounds that I am bored....

While Kress's comments are in poor-taste and not even approaching polite, they are by no means slander and this is obvious, or should be, to anyone reading them. The fact that one of Torn's friends has jumped in to defend him really fails to counter any of Kress's points. While Koj's slice at Kress is quite sharp, he seems to not realize that damage to Kress in this thread is irrelevant since Kress isn't the one applying.

The real key here though is when Shamp jumps in. If we look at his post we notice some interesting things right off the bat...

As I already said, Kress's comments are not slander and claiming they are is a solid bit of exaggeration, or perhaps simply a misunderstanding of what "slander" and "criticism" mean and the difference between the two. The comment also makes Torn look too weak to defend himself against Kress, which is not an attribute that is looked for in mods.

However, the biggest damage here is actually done to Shamp himself. He made a post that basically said that Kress's comments were way out of line, and regardless of whether they were or not, Kress is still on the forums and un-punished for them which means an admin never cared enough to take action. There is an old saying that goes something like...

The fastest way to lose authority is to make threats you can not carry out

Shamp is showing, by the outrage in his post and the same lack of punishment attached to Kress's post, that Shamp's threats are not worth taking seriously. The results of this can be easily seen. Simply look through Shamp's posts for any post in which he orders an end to the thread, and then see how many people post after his order. It is clear that he is being ignored on a routine basis, mostly because he keeps making the sorts of posts he made in here.

Now, to be 100% clear, I think Shamp is a great game mod and a valuable player, but I also think he is perhaps not considering his posts enough on the forums where he attempts to enforce something, as they are doing more harm to his position than anything else.


And that is why this mod app is dead.

I have nothing against anyone on Minerealm nor have I done anything to hurt or offend anyone.

The one thing I don't understand here is this: How can Kress make an opinion about me, when I have only dealt with him once in the past and have only ever seen him online once or twice? Based on the fact that we never see each other online at the same time leads me to believe that he can't make a judgement on how helpful I am?

For him to say:

I've only dealt with him once and it was like dealing with an autistic child at the time.

He's only dealt with me once? Yes - that's true. He is the only one that has had a "problem" dealing with me. I would love to know what this problem was? Did I do something wrong, say something to offend him? I don't think so.

For what he wrote, I took it as slander personally. Out of everyone that has posted here only Kress has a problem and it's totally unjustified.

The reason I didn't reply or "defend" myeslf in any which way with Kress is because I didn't have too. There is nothing to defend myself against. What he wrote on my mod app is nothing short, as Shampoo said, of slander. There is no justification, as I've said before, for what he wrote.

In summary:

I have dealt with Kress once. I have been online at the same time as him at most, twice.

For him to come out with what he said, things like, "dealing with an autistic child at the time" and "who doesn't reply to comments, questions, and people when online. I mean, for God sake, who is Tornadic anyway?" - He doesn't know who I am because we are never online at the same time. And as for the autistic child thing - where did that come from? How could he judge that from one encounter?

I have nothing agaisnt Kress or anyone. I just don't understand how he can justify his comments when I can safetly say - anyone who IS online most of the time when I am, will say that I AM helpful, I DO repsond to people and I DO answer peoples questions.

Just because Kress decides to write one unjustifed slander comment on my mod app, doesn't mean a thing. My app isn't dead. No. Infact, just because noone has commented on it for a while doesn't make it dead either. There are pages and pages of mod apps that have had no reply in ages, yet they aren't dead. Intelli will look at them in good time when he is ready to hire new mods.

I have nothing else to say on the matter. There are no hard feelings between any of us I hope?
