As many of us know, an lbg can be really chaotic and can cause a lot of havoc trying to do things. Everybody is confused, people are trying to ask too much of the lbg leader, and it gets really chaotic. I think having an arena chat (/a), would help greatly. everybody can use the arena chat, but only during or close to games. It would make the text a certain color, like green. Either that, or people could make arena chats, and it would work like a realm, but without the physical form. Like this:

/arena create <arena name> -this would create the actual chat channel-

/arena invite <name> -this would allow players to join the chat channel. they can only be in a single arena channel at once-

/arena join <name> -joins a certain arena chat-

/a <message> -basically like /r, this makes the text green-

/arena disband -self explanatory-

/arena leader <name> -gives the arena an additional leader-

/arena port <name> -teleport a certain player to you-

/arena kick <name> -Kick a certain player from the arena-

I believe these would make arenas way more organized. Whoever is hosting the games would /arena create before it started, so it could get going. They would use /a to talk with the other players in the arena, using /arena invite to get the players to join, then /arena port to get the players to the arena. Using /arena port would put less stress on the mods, so a game could be hosted without them. I'm not a programmer, so I don't know how much lag this would create.

It's a decent idea, but there have been at least three other chat additions suggested, all of them channel-based. Sounds over-crowded to me...

I guess you're right. The more channels, the more lag, and the more work for admins. It still would help with organizing the games, though.

I don't think more than one arena would ever be going at once, so why don't we just have one arena channel?

Before hearing/using the chat you would have to /arena on, and then /arena off when you're finished. /a would work when arena chat is turned on.

The original idea certainly has more features, and mine has drawbacks, but it's something to consider.

That is a good idea. It is likely only one arena would be going on at once. But how would you add the arena ports into that...
