You like it when they scream.

I know I'm still new, but the chat filter is entirely too sensitive. Chestfuls, assign, etc. are words I've seen it go mental over. Also, warnings over "booby" and "crap" -- words which are not swear words according to the FCC, by the way.

Obviously, Intelli is the law and decides what words stay and which go, but the language filtering is just overkill.

Rather than making it feel welcoming, it's had a chilling effect on me. As much as I'd like to get to know people better and really start to become part of the community, I've no interest in getting banhammered by a script that can't deduce that I don't mean harm by saying "assets."

Also, +1 on all the people saying more mods in different timezones are a better solution. I will always err towards humans versus scripts that can't deduce context or intent.

Oh, one last thing. If you're going to ban swear words, realize some people have simply taken to swearing in Spanish, French, German, or other languages to circumnavigate your bot, and are quite amused at themselves for getting away with it. Since there's no actual moderator on, HelpBot doesn't know the difference.

Meanwhile, those of us who are multilingual get to enjoy the repercussions of these choices.

Please, please, please, either rework the bot, or simply step it back to being a "help" bot, and let the moderators do what they do best.

Thank you.

Yes. Banning people makes me... oh so happy.

I wonder if help bot added in a function so that Texas can no longer claim "I am the law".

The second HelpBot decides to make "Her Darkness", "My Little Pony", or (May The Heavens have Mercy) "friendship" illegal, I will be attack it with every weapon in the Friendship, Brony, and Temple of The Black Night arsenal. Until then, as Fluttershy would say, "Yay."

I sincerly appreciate what the addition of the Help Bot banning was attempting to do but I really don't think it's really going to be effective. I'd say allow it to block the worst of the language but leave it at that. It would take more time and effort to maintain the language filter that it's worth. People will always find ways to subvert it and you'll waste far too much of your valuable time trying to keep up.

Like I said I think the best solution would be to scale it back to just the most obvious words and phrases and let the MODs and players with screen shots catch the remaining.

Let Help Bot be more of a help and less of an moderator :-)

Anyway thats my 2 cents on the matter. As always I'll respect whatever decision Intelli makes. I don't chat much anyway so it is pretty unlikely to impact me either way.
