For a long time, people have always wanted to know if a copy of the current server will ever be released for people to download.
Recently, I've been getting into animating and I'd like to be able to use structures from the map in my animations. Basically, the software that I use allows me to import sections of Minecraft worlds as well as their textures and I use them as settings for animations. Other people want a copy of the world for different reasons… for example, some may want to use their builds in single player worlds, change up builds in creative, and so on.
I know that the reason release of a copy isn't realistic (or at least wasn't when more people played) was because people would use the world copy to cheat. Well, not very many people play now, so I doubt the potential problem is as big as it once was when people played all the time and scandal was a huge issue. Now, most players get on for leisure to explore a bit and then log off.
To conclude, I'm sure that it won't be long before people stop playing altogether, and there will be this empty server sitting in rented space that won't be put to use. If that does happen, I'd like to be able to at least take a piece of Minerealm with me to not only use for my own purposes, but remember the community and the times I've had, as I'm sure many others would too. This suggestion/inquiry may not be realistic at this moment since some people still play, but I'm wondering if it may be any time soon? The map in general is astounding. If I could bring it to life through animation, that would mean a lot to me. God knows it hasn't seen much life for a long time.

Intelli said that he'll probably release the map if he switches to a new one for v5.

That said, that contradicts his previous promise never to do a full map wipe again, so who knows.

Let's just do MineRealm v5 on a new map, shut down the current v4 server, and put it up for download.

V5 isn't a map wipe, it's a whole new map. How is that contradictory?

Gotta be honest though, if v4 is put up for download and shut down I can see myself spending more time finishing off my builds in creative sp on the v4 map than playing v5.
Whilst looting everything in sight, maniacally laughing aloud and crying myself to sleep missing the good old days......eh who am I kidding, I play more PS4 now than PC anyway

I feel like that graph is a little high. It's more like 1 afk alt on 24/7 and if it's a busy day 2-3 people are online.

That's 2-3 at a time. I'm pretty sure the graph also includes those popping in to only renew realms and whatnot, so that skews it a bit too.

I was wondering the same thing, except for the map from around 3 years ago... If it's somehow accessible and willing to be put up for download.

I wouldn't mind exploring earlier map seeds myself either, the actual map would be even better.
If they do exist that is, considering there have been 2? public wipes since v1? it couldn't really be considered as gaining an advantage... could it?

Imo a map wipe and a new map are basically the same thing. I can't think of any major differences tbh.

New map = new terrain, zero starting credits, zero owned plots and zero starting items.
Map wipe = new terrain, bulk starting credits, owned plots and whatever items you can fit on your person and in your enderchest.

Quite a difference
