Considering I haven't been genuinely Minerealming for quite a while now, and sure this might sound a little biased from me, but at the same time perhaps an extraneous view might be tolerated? Gonna risk my neck anyway, for the sake of cutting the poop so to speak.

First of all, as Final correctly stated in my humble opinion, this appeal is pathetic/not an appeal. I think that he hit the nail on the head there.

Then, I refer to Falconis' image that he kindly posted for us, in conjunction with the whole 'you should've given him a warning' wah wah. Why am I referring to this, I hear you ask? That, in itself is a warning. Every time you see the signs in spawn, you are essentially being warned not to swear, keep respectful, etc. If anything, as a player who is approaching three years of experience, you're fairly lucky if staff choose to give you an additional warning on top of every single time you've seen the signs. The "you've read the signs" argument has been used in response to appeals before to good effect, yet for some strange reason, we seem to be singing a different tune here. Although, I appreciate that this could be a bit of a gray area, but at the same time, it should've been obvious from the start that VV was not one of River's close female friends.

Staff giving people warnings about their behaviour before banning is a leniency, not a requirement.

Also, if it was indeed true that VV was being rude about you behind your back (not saying that it is, by the way); this attack on her really isn't the best way to go about it, nor is any other form of disrespect for that matter. I believe trying to hit back was something Lioncats was also banned for? If VV was indeed dishing out the bs, the best thing you could've done is ignored her unless she stated something important.

I shall not go into the discussion of whether or not VV is appropriate for staff in this thread. If you genuinely want to hear my opinion, feel free to PM me about it.

I wish I could quote everything FinalFouad said directly without it being spammy, I feel like he has it spot on. This is supposed to be a ban appeal, not some pathetic post where the gremlins of minerealm voice their rude, off topic, opinions of a staff member. Last I checked people got banned for posting unnecessary comments on ban appeals and I sure hope one of the staff members comes through and knocks you all of those high horses you're riding on. The fact that you think it's okay to talk about someone like this makes me sick to my stomach. And over what? A ban in a minecraft game. If anything would make someone not want to be a part of this community it's the players actions and comments towards each other. You should ALL feel ashamed for yourselves. I honestly can not believe this is the community I used to love and adore, and what a monster it's become...

Nothing I've read in this appeal has shown that River is sorry for his actions. What seems to me is he is apologizing that she got offended by his disrespectful words and nothing more. And if anything just further attempted to insult her and dig his own grave. I think if any other staff member had been disrespected like this people wouldn't be hopping on the band wagon if that player was banned. Plenty of other players have been banned for disrespect by staff, he shouldn't have needed a warning to know what is best not to say in chat. So as of this point my vote is a no, unless he shows a real attitude change.
And to me that's saying something grave about a player I used to respect.

Since everyone is making decisions and judgement on this appeal with so little knowledge of what was said to cause the ban, I would like to ask for logs of the incident to be put up. It would sure clear up any problems for river if what he said actually was trivial, and would clear things up for VV if what he said was offensive. What has been posted in the appeal so far has only been small snippets of what was said (mostly by the side against river, so it's likely biased), and since people are reacting so strongly to it, I think we should have the comments posted.

River, most of your posts so far have been attacking VV, and you have barely apologised for what you said, which from what I have seen in the comments so far, must have been quite offensive (this may not be the case, but I guess we'll see if the logs are put up =P). Instead of attacking VV and her decision, you should probably be focusing more on defending your case.

From what I have seen so far, the arguement is pointing against river, but is also showing VV's habit of bringing emotions into moderating. From what I have seen of her in minerealm, VV does her job perfectly fine. She always fixes greif, bans nubs, and does other staff duties whenever it is needed and these incidents with 'unjustly' banning players are rare compared to all the other work she does. Sure, she might make mistakes once in a while, but who doesn't. I don't think a staff should be having their position questioned over some incidents when they work completely fine at all other times.

As for my position on the matter, I believe there should have been SOME warning, even a kick, or a 'shut up river' would have been fine, but from what I have seem there was no warning. I'm not saying the ban was unjustified, but there should have been some notification; a boss wouldn't just fire an employee with no warning. Most of us lack the information to properly judge the situation and I think some people have been over-reacting with what little information we have, so I think posting the logs will help this appeal alot.

Also, just putting it out there that minerealm has never been a democracy =P.

I understand your wish to gain more knowledge about this incident because you weren't there.
I was there and I'd rather not have it posted here. I did not find it funny at all, and even though there might have been no warning saying "stop it or you'll be banned" there surely was some kind of "shut up river". It was clear as day that river would get himself trouble if he didn't stop. At least it was for me.

I'm going to take the mature way out of this and say that I am sorry to vv for the attacking of her in this thread. I have already apologized multiple times for what I said in chat. If that really did offend you to the extent of banning, then that is my fault and I should of stopped, I didn't realize this.

If you think that this is a matter that still needs to be diacussed, then by all means post the logs and continue the dispute.

I apologize for posting twice in this thread. This appeal is NOT about who likes who and who supports who or who agrees with who. The original intent of this thread is about the reasoning behind being banned for a specific comment being said in chat. You think a person who doesn't like VV is going to agree with what you've said? You think a person who likes you isn't going to agree with VV's decision?

Not in reference to anyone in particular... but I know, right? There are waay too many people on minerealm who treat playing on the server so seriously. Honestly, save your passion for real life. This is a game, and is meant to be treated like a game. That's really the only way that people will ever be able to see it as a fun, careless... game... and not get wrapped up on this drama and whatever that means literally nothing in the grand scale of your life. One day literally everything you ever did on this server will be either forgotten or just meaningless, so just have fun with it and treat it well now while it still lasts.
