My friends Minecraft gets this error when he logs in, he didn't pay for an account so he is trying to play offline with no updates.
Can someone help?

P.S.: This is the downloadable version not the browser version.

This is not a error, just the way to make you buy the game.

The payment is for having the game, not just for Multiplayer or updates.
The game will download and be playable once he uses a paid account, until then he only has the laucher.

It's only like $15 for a account tell him to buy one. :S

Hmm... I used to just download the game for free and be able to play offline.

I don't know if this is still the same, but on alpha you could play singleplayer without an account iff someone had already logged in on that computer. I think the file "lastlogin" stores that.
