Haha, I was about to post a few days ago that the steam sales were due to start this friday but was waiting for confirmation.

Ahh well, there go my savings >.<

Nah, that patch was long overdue ... 0.45 stable was slated for release by end of April worst-case. Turned out that some of the changes they had made were flawed at a conceptual level and required a complete redesign though, so it was delayed a couple of months.

This article outlines a basic strategy for picking when to buy.

tl;dr of the article:
Buy community picks, daily deals, flash sales, and bundles as soon as you see something you want.
Wait until the last day of the sale for everything else.

Would you believe it my i5 just died on meh.
Went back to the rental store (yeah I know, not all of us can afford to build rigs)
and would you believe my 12 months was up so I could upgrade.

*strokes i7 with 16GB of ram*

Now to wait for my entire steam/origin games folders to transfer to portable HDD

slaps dysfunctional i7 with broken Ethernet port, damn rentals.
Brings home faster i7 with 24GB ram, sadly now includes Win8 *shudders*

Chuck StartIsBack on it. Costs about $5 for a license but makes Win 8 look and behave like Win 7.

Busy trying to get it to run stuff at the moment mate.
Raw dumped BF3 onto a portable HDD, put it on the new PC and verified files and it runs laggy as hell.
Also noticed Battlelog tells me I'm banned.........I didn't do anything. This sucks

Side note: I'm getting almost 4x the fps on Minecraft now
