This is exactly what I mean by tango spoiling everything. Where someone with the smarts could spend a lot of time designing this and make loads of cash off it, he gives it to you. No effort for a lot of buck. The differentiation of who is deserving of it is gone.

I'm glad you say try because that's all he could do. Someone would just copy the design and provide it for free. I wouldn't mind if he gave us the rules by which villages operate (as not everyone wants to or can painfully look through source code). Instead, he builds an all-in-one, hands it out, and briefly mentions how it all works.

Well the distribution of knowledge, instead of making everyone figure it out for themselves, did give rise to our modern civilisation.

Sure. We don't expect people to build themselves integrated circuits from raw materials. Intel does that for us and they profit from it. It's necessary because it's specialization. This is, in fact, what someone could do with, say, an iron trench. They can profit from their design within a server's economy. Minerealm is a civilization. It's closed from the outside. The collection of minecraft servers is not a civilization. It's a universe. It's like visiting each planet with intelligent life and handing them an iPhone. An individual could replicate the device and sell it without having invented the technology. You don't think that's unfair?

All I'm saying is I'd much rather have people enjoy designing an original iron farm rather than simply follow instructions to build someone else's well known design.

I've personally never been a fan of copying designs built by others. I definitely leverage research done by others while designing my contraptions, but the final builds are always unique and original. The enjoyment for me is in the design and optimisation process, particularly when I can utilise MineRealm-specific behavioural quirks to my advantage.

So in that sense I do agree with eah, though it doesn't annoy me in the slightest if others choose to copy designs developed by other people.

Technically, it was an argument, but we weren't flaming or anything. IMO, name calling is a good indicator that it needs locking.

Wow this looks awesome, and minecraft has needed a new way of dealing with displaced water in lakes or rivers, since it can be very hard to fix. This looks so helpful and very cool if its finally added.
