I have been playing on a labtop and get around 50fps on the snapshot, however amplified is supposed to take more power to play. The chunks have trouble loading on the snapshot though, but that's understandable since its so new.

Tried amplified mode, I thought my laptop was going to have a heart attack, but it ran it quite well.
A bit of chunk loading lag but otherwise it didn't impact on the fps.

Second map would introduce more server load, aka, more lag.

Flew around for hours last night with amplified terrain on. Found an awesome cliffy jungle, unfortunately I couldn't find any amplified mesa, but I've seen videos of them and they are that most spectacular thing in this update by far. Amplified terrain is also screwing with villages.
