2. X-Ray mods mean they can and will find ANYTHING. But at least we'll be able to see who did it.
3. Dueling wouldn't happen. Half the people that steal are completely and utterly retarded (make that 97%), and this wouldn't solve anything. There are still rules broken.
4. Hiding does nothing vs. Xray mods, but it does help against petty thieves.
5. They will NOT agree to a duel. If this happened, there would be 10 duels going on at any given time. Just drop the duel idea.
6. Stealing is mean, idiotic, childish, AND malicious. It represents that that player is far too pathetic to be able to work for their own items, and instead try to take from other players who have. If you want to have "fun" just messing around and stealing, go find another server. Because we don't look at it as fun here. We take hard work for what is: something to be proud of. Not stolen from.
7. We never give back items to players, unless we catch the looter right then and there which almost never happens.
8. Less people being banned isn't necessarily "good". It just means less work for us, which I appreciate you trying to lessen our workload, but id rather work all day getting moronic looters banned rather than letting them run free.
9. More options aren't always better. If I can order ketchup or mustard on my hot dog, that's nice. I like those options. If they offer me rusty nails for my hot dog, is that better? No. But it's more options, right?
10. It is literally out of their control. Given: If a player is careless enough to leave their chests in the open, I do very little to help them. But if it's inside a private realm with blocks above it and maximum security, I do what I can to make things better. It's not taking "responsibility" to protect your items. Stealing happens all the time thanks to them hax.
And I do consider Stealing a form of Griefing. Its own form. One that takes more a literal definition of "causing grief" to the player. I'm not saying everything that makes one sad should be bannable, but Stealing is one of those things. Stealing is something that CAN be easily avoided: GTFO from spawn. But if you get stolen beyond that, there's really nothing you could've done. It's just something to move on after.
). Killing in minecraft is different than stealing. Killing is the agreed upon combat between two players, which means they both AGREE to risk whatever they have on them in a fight to the death, wherein Stealing does not involve a mutual agreement. They aren't the same thing. Not at all.
What fake person is giving you these incredibly easy arguments to counter? Certainly not any of us. I have a perfectly good reason to have a rule against stealing: It is a childish behavior wherein the only argument FOR having stealing allowed is "It's fun!" And some people will try to act clever saying "ohhh it introduces a new dynamic and it makes you think on your heels." While this may be true, today's hacking technology simply does not allow for "true stealing" to take place, and so we aren't dealing with "true stealing" here, we are dealing with everything else that comes with it. That means x-ray hacks, trans-packs, speedhacks, block-break hacks, flyhacks, etc.
Letting Stealing in is just like letting one Evil out of Pandora's Box: Why would you want to?
Also, you joined the forums yesterday. Are you sure you've been here as long as you say you have?

2. If your chest is hidden well (Buried underground/inside a wall) then you can report it, people just don't walk into chests.
3. Why? You do not point out anything that would make this a bad punishment.
4.Then they hide them.
5. No, if he died you would get your items back (If you didn't know, a duel would be the two members turning on pvp and fighting).
6. Those words are synonymous.
7. Yes they do, I've seen this done before.
8. That's an opinion.
9. It allows more options for gameplay.
10. So you'd rather have the admins babysit you? Take some responsibility for once.
Calling me stupid is no way to start an argument and I will not take you seriously at all, yes it is biased due to the fact that I can't think of any cons, I tried to support both sides of the argument but I couldn't think of the other side.

many have said "It's only against the rules if you're caught". I've seen the argument that this is illegal IRL so it should be illegal in game, but then again murder is illegal in real life as well and we can do that freely in the nether.Who in God's name said that? You can't compare something IRL like murder to minecraft, it isn't the same. We can jump 1 meter and break solid stone with our fists in minecraft. Does that sound like real life to you? Analogies between the two can't be compared, at least in this case. (The one I made above is abstract, so don't try to argue my hypocracy
To sum up what I've said, there is no good reason to have a rule against stealing besides "It's mean!". People will be mean, which is why we protect ourselves from these mean people.
