The word "library" does not mean "books", yet the library contains books, and likewise with appeals and apologies. Appeals are for anyone who wants to get unbanned, not just innocents. People can commit offenses, then feel bad, realize their mistakes, apologize, and get unbanned after a short or long sentence. I should know, it's happened to me.

An appeal is a request for staff to change their mind about something. In this case, it is mostly an appeal for us to change our mind about banning people, either on the grounds that they feel it was mistaken (very rare) or on the grounds that they are sorry and want a second chance.

The first ban is 99.9% always lifted. Even after the first ban it is usually lifted. I feel some people are sometimes banned for too long unjustly, but I would say most bans are fair.

It's not unjust if they are breaking the servers rules, if it is a matter of a longer period well they are being looked into further and we have to look through all their logs. That can take time, if it is marked [Needs Intelli] we have no control over the time on those.

But no ban is unjust, you want to break the rules don't whine about them.

I'm assuming you are actually saying "But currently you are looking through the logs of banned new players which you unban then they come back on and grief again just to be re-banned 1 second later"

Which if that is what I am understanding correctly, that statement is false. I know the bans and the appeals and look through all the bans on the ban list every day, and the re-ban rate on newer players isn't high at all. In fact most clean up their act and actually follow the rules after their first ban.

For instance the percentage of people banned for swearing is the same for new people ?

I would guess the longer someone plays the more complicated the grief tho ?
