The small research station has fallen into a disturbing silence as its communications systems with the outside world are cut. Something within the station seems to have shut down the escape doors so that nothing can leave this place.
A man once obsessed with creating a perfect system to find put an end to The Spread hasn't made contact with anyone in months, and it is assumed that he is dead or missing. Co-workers in the past have commented on his work, "I don't know, he seems to take his work seriously. But I think there's something wrong with him. He just doesn't think right. Never thinks about morals, just practical stuff: getting the job done by any means. Even if it means hurting the ones he loves."
His brother, Sam, also worked with him at the station. Frustrated and fearful for his brother's absence, Sam decided to enter Erodean Labs today, knowing well that he cannot escape until he shuts down whatever is keeping the station silent.
