It's the people abusing it... That's the problem. People who have like 4 realms of sheep. 2 realms for leather. 400+200=600. A little excessive in my opinion. I have like 30 cows, and that's it. Intelli you should just wipe all the mobs on the map! Then keep it at the normal system. This will make it, so livestock is more common. It will also reduce lag for a while. If we did this Im sure some people would cut down on over farming. I don't think anyone wants the old system though :(

I think this is a good and needed change. I never worried about leather or other mob drops until the spawn cap was hit. I didn't feel like I needed a farm, I just killed and collected from whatever mobs happened to spawn while walking around. I haven't seen a single wild passive mob spawn since the current 100 mob cap was instituted. 5-6 was a good limit for spawner farming. Yes, it's fun to set up mega-farms, but when everyone on the server has a mega-farm, it kind of ruins it for everyone else.

See, this is like the red ending of Mass Effect 3. You kill 'em all off now, but without implementing any real solution to the cause of the problem. You maybe kill them off again later. And again. And again. It keeps happening.

It becomes this giant allegory for mob grinding. The whole server is a meta mob grinder.

Trimming the limit down fixes the problem for the long term.

I also haven't slept in a few days.

It has been awhile but I think your right, because even though the new limit is in place I have not really kept more animals then I did previously and I never see stray animals in my realms anymore. Someone should do something about those animal hoarders. I am calling ASPCA :P

So is that why I can't find any cows or sheep anywhere near my land? I have a fair bit of grass but nothing ever shows up.

I'm all for a lessened mob limit if I can get an animal that won't randomly disappear, I get plenty of monsters, but haven't been able to get a cow or sheep so I'm screwed on leather, wool, etc. I don't have to have a mega farm, but more than 3 sheep per realm would be nice too. :D

I thought I was just terribly unlucky :D
