I've used it. The interface is horrible and just generally unpleasant to use.
Next time, actually find out if the person you're talking to has used the OS, without jumping to the conclusion which would fit your side of the discussion.
If that is what you really believe about the interface, then my previous statement is still valid toward you, even though it was obviously a generalization. You never used it long enough to notice it works exactly like windows 7 and just as customizable as windows has always been. However, lets be honest here, I am a computer specialist and can make any OS do exactly what I want it to do. So when someone insinuates an OS is flat out rubbish it tells me everything I need to know about their technical knowledge. If you had said something like "switching from the desktop to start screen is a bit wonky" that at least is something tangible. Otherwise you are venting some hot air about nothing which makes you sound technologically inept, nothing wrong with that. However, it is clear you and are not in the same league.
tl;dr: You have zero credibility in the information technology field to be discussing the idiosyncrasies of an OS with me.
I don't need to back up my opinion on how an OS feels to me. If I think it's a terrible OS, then that's the end of it. I was not even being entirely serious about Windows 8 being completely horrible. There are some features I like about it, however the entire thing just feels awkward to use and I don't feel I should have to mod the crap out of my OS to get it to work at an acceptable level. You can stop stroking your ego now, and please leave this thread if you have nothing to else to contribute.
-Edit-
Now then, I am done arguing with you.
Let's see some desktops, people!
