High school drum major here. Conductor keeps time, which can be pretty important, although ideally everyone involved is good enough that they don't need it. The biggest thing is counting everybody off, so that everyone starts together. Conductor will also give cues for major things that happen, like a huge hit, a crescendo, key change, etc. The arms, at least at my level, should usually be moving in sync, or with one keeping time while the other gives a cue.

Might've already posted this one. I still like it, though I would prefer it having an actual orchestra, it simply sounds too synthy.
