Any information on my previously stated issue Intelli?

So as we were told by intelli the villagers were only suppose to go down to 5 and stop. But earlier i logged on and I guess they populated to 6 and now I only have 1 left when we were told that they only go down to 5.

I have problems breeding in the wilderness. I had 4 cows, fed two and got one baby. Now when I feed more, more babys spawn, but some time later it is back to 4 adults and one baby. One time even after 5 adults were already there, suddenly it was back to 4 animals and one baby.

Without breeding cows it is impossible to get decent enchantments in the wilderness, because lether is required for bookshelves now.

Is this also related to the unstable craftbukkit ?

EDIT: Also the lag is pretty bad now. Reminds me of the old times when minerealm was lagging all the time. I was soooo happy when that was fixed for good. Actually I would have prefered playing 1.2.5 for a while longer until a non-lagging bukkit is available. Maybe a good strategy for the next update? Delay until stable?

Dear Chris,

There is a limit of mobs available per certain area. Keep the amount of cows you own at 5 at all times. Instead, you could try expanding the pen.

Kill three, breed the remaining two back into five, and repeat. Also, use a looting III sword when disposing of them.

He might struggle to do this without an enchanting table set up, or the funds to purchase said sword.
