Skyrim DLC: Dawnguard will have roughly 15 hours of new gameplay in it, more quests, bla bla bla.

In Dawnguard, you can either join the vampires who are trying to block out the sun, or you can join the Dawnguard and stop them. If you choose vampires, here are a few perks:

-Transform into a Vampire Lord (That large, grey winged thing in the vid)
-Hover across environment
-Disappear into a cloud of bats
-Gain access to a new perk tree

The perk tree gives you some fairly strong stuff, but it is Vampire Lord-Specific. Here are a few examples:

-Summon a gargoyle to fight with you
-Pull targets from a distance and choke the life out of them
-Paralyze enemies
-Add poison damage to your attacks
-Detect all nearby creatures

And there will probably be more.

If you choose the Dawnguard, don't be sad. You aren't left out. I can only find a few bonuses for the Dawnguard:

-Can summon an armored troll (I admit, that is pretty awesome)
-Gain multiple tiers of cross bow, weapon and armor designs

...crossbows can’t be reloaded as quickly as standard bows, they do have other advantages, such as higher damage output and a chance to knock back targets struck by bolts. Crossbows won’t have a dedicated skill tree, but their functionality can still be modified through the Archery tree.

If you are a werewolf, you still can join the vampires and become a Vampire Lord. Sadly, if you want to be both, that is impossible. You must sacrifice your werewolf-ness to become a Vampire Lord.

If you buy Dawnguard, you will have acess to more explorable zones, including a "nether realm" by the name of Soul Cairn that’s filled with purple fire, wild fiery horses (<-- I want one.) and crackling thunder.

Some things in the storyline include sacrificial Molag Bal rituals, hidden Elder Scrolls, and especially warped family values. Also, if you want to see both sides of the DLC, you'll have to have more than one character.

The release date is set for summer for Xbox 360 and a little later than that for PS3 and PC.

Well, as much as I hate vampires, I think I will become one, based on the information shown. But, there will probably be negative aspects for each side, so I guess I'll have to wait a while to decide. ;D

Armored Troll? More unique weapons and armor? Dawnguard it is. And for anyone thinking that the vampires are more BA, then let me ask you this... is it cooler to BE a flying vampire... or to have slain dozens of them?

That said, I am definitely going to start another character to be a flying, icer-breathing, flame cloaked Dovah-pire.

Well, here is a bit more info:

Vampire Stuff:

-You can hover over water;
-Block out sun so you can stay outside in the day;
-Vampire have been redone, made more demonic;
-Vampire Lords gain a new spell: Drain Life. It sucks Health from your enemy;
-Vampire Lords live in Oblivion (Ima move my wifey there);
-Vampire Lords can travel to Oblivion at will;
-Vampire Lords can command swarms of bats and, as already stated, gargoyles.

Dawnguard Stuff:

-Dawnguard has a lovely new Shout called Soul Tear which rips out an enemy's soul and reanimates it as a companion;

General:

-There is a werewolf skill tree called "Lycanthrophy".
-More/New dragon battles;
-New set of Dragonbone weapons and armor;
-New mount called Arvak (the flaming horse). Can be summoned from Oblvion at any time;
-There is a mission called "Power of the Grave" that takes place in Oblivion;
-Dawnguard has been confirmed to cost 1600 MS points.

Nice to see a werewolf skill tree. Being a werewolf before was pointless because it wouldn't grow stronger as your character leveled.

Werewolf skill tree? A shout that lets me RIP OUT MY ENEMIES SOULS? Yeah, Dawngaurd, hands down. Can't wait to battle a dragon as a decked out werewolf with an armored troll to back me up (I leik glitchin teh skyrimz).

Heh. I may have to get that DLC. Not sure what side I would pick though--my current character is an Altmer Stormcloak (...yeah, I know...) werewolf with emphasis on destruction magic, archery, and sneaking. The crossbows would be a pretty nice addition to my arsenal, but at the same time I'd rather be a vampire than a werewolf, just because I seem to always get killed when I do my werewolf transformation (although the lycanthropy skill tree might help with that).

Tangentially related:
The ability to turn into werewolves and vampires somehow reminds me of the expansion packs to The Sims 2. Not sure why it made me think of that, as werewolves and vampires are both pretty common in video games... but if future DLC brings us dovahkin robots and plant people, I'll call shenanigans.

Thats not embarrasing...Contains self generating quests... you CAN'T beat skyrim :shock:

And yeah, I know what you mean about not knowing what side to join. My main is joining the Dawnguard, but I have 2 side characters that I'm slowly turning into a written story. Not sure how I want to work that into things... and for those of you that are interested, my character build:

Name: Ryu Aurora (naturally)
Race: Dark Elf
Side of the War? Imperial
Main Quest? Yeppers
Shouts? All of them (GreyBeards ftw)
All guilds completed.
Level: 60's? (Need to check)

Prefferred Weapon/armour? Nightengale/ Custom armor mix, and prefer Bows/Long Sword w Shield.
