I would very much love for everyone who wishes to participate in the Minerealm Olympics to make a flag/banner. It'd really just be for fun, but it'd also help us figure out who is thinking of being on a team. On top of that, new players could join a team under the same flag/banner.

The flag/banner would have to be simple. A 7x7 (block-wise) that could be in any shape they want it to be. Also, the blocks would HAVE to be made of wool (for aesthetics).

Pictures of examples are as follows.

The Minerealm Olympic Games are a series of sporting events now to be hosted exclusively on Survival, hopefully around Mid-July, August to co-incide with the real Olympics.
To help post awareness of this project, intended to bring the Minerealm community together and to allow individuals and factions to compete with each other in sporting events.

To the purpose of this thread is simple, for factions to post images of their Faction Flags, National Anthems, Symbols, Values, etc.

This thread is the ideal place to show Minerealm that your faction is taking part in the Minerealm Olympic Games, to be held hopefully soon!

Example for a Posted faction:
Faction Name: Turves
Faction Flag: Image

Faction Anthem: Auld Lang Syne

That banner size looks about right, but if you make make one that is a little bit smaller, that would help.
15x15 is a rough size, the banner/flag can be any size shape.
The design should consider how the pattern would look as a hanging not only as a hanging banner, but also as a flag that flows in the breeze.

Here are a few simple guidelines to making a flag....
So what makes a good flag, anyhow?

The North American Vexillological Association, the foremost flag authority that I can find on Google, agrees that the best flags exhibit the following qualities:

Simplicity: a flag should be so simple a five-year-old can draw it
Symbolism: the flag's elements should relate to what it symbolizes
Good palette: a flag should use no more than three basic colors that contrast well
No seals or text: Related to simplicity; seals and lettering are tough to reproduce
Distinctiveness: flags should be unique, but can be similar to show a connection

It is very important to note that there are exceptions to the rules—a number of good flags include text or use more than three colors. But make certain to exercise diligence when deviating from the norm, and only do so with a clear purpose in mind.
A good flag doesn't necessarily have to follow all these rules, but it is a good guideline.
For minecraft an important thing to consider is scale, especially when dealing with blocks that will represent the different pixels that will make up an image.
