This poll is simple. There is an extreme amount of players that either disagree with Agent becoming a Mod, or would prefer someone else to be a mod. GET OVER IT. Intelli made his choice, it is done. However, I disagree with the fact that Agent's application is hidden from the community he now has leeway over. As per the moderation rules:

1. Positive Community Image - One of the most important things for a staff member to have is a positive image with the community. This means that you cannot be public enemy number one: you have to have mostly friends and only few enemies. One way I can very easily tell how cut out someone is for being a mod is this: If I see in their staff application that most of the replies are saying how the guy applying is a moron, a jerk, etc., or he's known to cause trouble, then he probably isn't really fit for being a Mod.

My stance: I do not believe that Agent deserves the position he has been granted more than... many of the other candidates. I do believe, however, that he does deserve it more than me (I'm not trying to boost my ratings). My main choice for moderation would be Turves, due to reasons I may put in a different forum post.

So: If you believe that I am wrong, vote yes to this. Let Agent prove to the community that he has what it takes to moderate us. Let him prove that he is a prime choice over the rest of the candidates.

This post is exactly what I believe. For Agent to just disregard the way almost every other mod has been selected is unfair to the community. I for one do not believe Agent is the best choice for mod.

Having a mod who is leader of a new faction that many do not look upon favorably should be one indication. Also he is barely seventeen. At the absolute minimum he should be required to post his application. Intelli should make an announcement on why someone was allowed to bypass the system completely when it seems to be such a big deal that people write their applications in the correct format.

I realize that everything that happens is Intelli's decision and I respect that. That being said the server is a place for everyone and if no regard is shown towards many of those in the community with months invested into the community there won't be many left. Then the server will be filled with nothing but noobs running around griefing and looting the once great factions.

I am not saying this because I believe it should be me either. On a side note, my number one choice would also be Turves.

We've never had a rule where applications needed to be public.

Tl;dr, none of your business.
Wow, that hurts coming from a mod that I fully support. Shamps, no, there is no rule that says applications need to be public. That is why I made this post to ASK that his be made public. It is my business when it comes to someone having a command over all of MineRealm. It is my business, your business, and the communities business.

Note: I'm sorry if I offended you Shamps; you are, and will remain, a trusted friend and mod.

That is purely agent's decision
And the fact that he is now a mod, clearly shows that it was fine, and your say has no effect in who becomes mod, it is the staff's choice

His app would prove to the community that he has what it takes to be a mod. I'm sure he does, but it is better coming from him.

What would releasing his app NOT solve (as in, what harm would come from him releasing his app?)?

Edit: Are you guys arguing just to rebel? There is no reason why he SHOULDN'T post his app. I'm not too sure what the community is coming to when almost every post is looked upon with the utmost of scrutiny. Calm down, it isn't too big of a deal. ESPECIALLY from veteran players.

Re-Edit: My say most certainly has an effect on who becomes mod. Just as much as EVERYONE'S say has an effect. That is why we have the first rule in moderation.

Do we want this: A government controlled by one person, or a small group of people. In this form of government the power rests entirely on the person or group of people, and can be obtained by force or by inheritance. The dictator(s) may also take away much of its peoples' freedom.

Or this: A system of government run by the whole population or all the eligible members of a state, typically through ELECTED representatives.

Note: The difference is a dictatorship and a democracy.

IMO, Agent is the best choice. He handles problems between players, is a nice guy to everyone, and is respected. Dugs, as was said before, it is Agents and the staffs decision to release his app. ( no offence to anyone who had a good chance at becoming mod, I still love ya)

Obviously something if he made it private

So Agent's actually a staff member? I figured it was just Intelli or one of the mods messing around and giving titles to people for a short time.

I would prefer to see applications before (or at least after!) they're approved, but if that's not going to happen, I guess I don't have too much of a problem with it. I think he's demonstrated the maturity needed for the position, although if as you claim he fails to meet the age requirement, that's rather unsettling since that requirement has been pretty well enforced in the past. I don't think his position as head of Arcane should be a matter of concern--despite a bit of banter between him and Imperial about who has the better spawner, I think (hope?) that won't color his judgements as mod.

Also:

I'd say the burden of evidence should be on you to show that it's necessary to have a publicly accessible application. If you have evidence of some wrongdoing or untrustworthiness on Agent's part (which a public application would allow you to share), why not just post it here.
