So basically, imagine this. A community for the high ups, as in people with multiple realms, or a stand-out personality, or an extreme ability for building. Of course, you would have to have been a registered user for at least a month, on top of having to have at least a 3 or higher on your reputation. You would also have to go through intensive screening and questioning to get in, but if you got in you could have your own realm at the communities base. On top of that, members could have a direct line to each other (a sort of friendliness and trust if you will). Each new member would also have to be approved by 75% of previous members. That also goes for kicking. If 75% of the members feel like you are a liability and should be kicked, you will be.

This is still in the idea faze, but I would love to see it in action.

Side Note: Members could only reach a maximum of 5 (excluding me), so it would also be an extremely exclusive community. In-activeness for a week would result in a kick. Users trying to join can also prove their worthiness over you, resulting in loss of membership.

The name would be: Mine Realm's Finest.

What benefits would there be to joining? Assuming that one is sufficiently well qualified to join, why would they want to join?

You mention that "members could have a direct line to each other" as a benefit, but that doesn't seem different from the normal chat system where you can have a "direct line" to anyone on the server via PM.

Hmm a bit elitist, how about the name 'Ivy League'. ^^

Still I guess this is how pretty much all factions operate to a certain extent (not excluding myself).
We try to attract the best builders, keep the central group small and therefore manageable and once we identify with our group, we start to consider ourselves as being the best there is.

Have you considered what type of objectives you'ld like to achieve as a group?
I have some suggestions, with the re-introduction of wool growth there is the potential for some really crazy pixel art on a large scale.
Minerealm needs 'investment' in it's infrastructure perhaps a group called Minerealm Transport Tycoons that dedicates itself to building epic roads between major settlements, providing sign posts and way points might be a good strategy?

That doesn't seem like much of a benefit, considering that you could be kicked from the group by a 3/4 vote at any time, presumably losing rights to the community base.

extremely exclusive
So? My realm is even more exclusive--rather than six members in the community you're proposing, my realm has only one member (myself). I certainly wouldn't claim that this puts me among "Minerealm's Finest."

Oh my god. That's brilliant.

Instead of spending time building giant underground cities, we should totally do that.

I'm lovin' your ideas King! Also, I don't know why I'm being put under such scrutiny. I'm not saying I'm better than any other community, just thought it would be a fun idea. If you really wish to find ways of putting this idea down, go for it. I'm not rich, I cannot provide tons of benefits. However, I do think that King's idea of building roads is a great one. Also, we could put the road building at a price, to keep things going. Good ideas guys, I like your constructed criticism and amazing feedback! Bring on the ideas!

Edit: Lovin' the name as well, way better than MineRealm's Finest. Ivy League it shall be named (unless something more brilliant is suggested!)

I also like this idea. Lots of major settlements, as well as some more minor ones such as my own, are already connected by the railway (which will almost certainly be faster than travel on foot). A few suggestions off the top of my head:
--Make the roads look nice, as a sort of "scenic route" alternative to the faster but uglier railways.
--Regularly check for griefing. Large projects in public realms are vulnerable to griefers--most of the damage will likely be minor, but would still make the roads look worse, and could not be rolled back if left unfixed for too long.
--Include lots of branches. The Frogroad in the +Z direction (from 900 to 1800) is basically a straight line from Spawn City to the ruins of Old Frogtown. The only branching in the road is when it opens up directly into someone's realms. This is fine for a road that was intended purely to give an easy route to one specific settlement, but wouldn't be ideal for a road system whose objective is to open up the entire map to easy travel.

How I see this:
(No offence to dugs meant here)

I see this as a group, who are trying to be great, but will not succeed. Straight off it's too wannabe posh, in your face, better than you of scheme.
I know my reputation is terrible but it doesn't mean my reputation is actually 0. I have some cool friends and some not so cool enemies, I am known on the server, but my rep lies at 0.
Really I think this group won't be helpful, friendly or fun. Sorry but I don't like where this is going.
